Jim O'Brien (the other one) out as Ohio State Basketball coach

The wildest rumor of the bunch is that OSU is trying to steal away Bob Knight from Texas Tech before he signs his three year extension at Texas Tech...

The rumor goes like this...Knight's agreed to the contract that he WILL sign next week at Texas Tech...but the AD there...Knight's good friend will allow him until he gets back from his hunting trip to make a try and get a deal done at his alma mater...Ohio State...where he was on a National Championship team with Jerry Lucas and John Havlicek...

This would put Knight back in the spotlight...in his old recruiting haunts...closer to home...and a chance to ram it down Indiana's throat twice a year...

I doubt it would happen...but a great rumor...
"Van Halen was one of the most hallelujah, tailgate, backyard, BBQ, arrive four hours early to the gig just for the parking lot bands. And still to this day is. It's an attitude. I think it's a spirit more than anything else is."

Knight has stated he will listen if OSU comes calling...

obviously not an interest to many here...but damn if that wouldn't be huge for OSU basketball...

just the kind of thing that will get OSU through this horseshit O'Brien is causing them...and get them on the map...

The Badgers are going to be the class of the Big 10 for awhile now. Damn, if Devin Harris would have stayed, they would be a top 5 team easy.

We'll see. I say in 2 years, this is a Final 4 contender.

The only reason that Wisconsin is the class of the Big 10 in hoops...

is because the Big 10 hoops programs reek...no offense...

I actually agree with Vonn in that respect...

Is Wisconsin good?...yes...would they do well in any other league that has at least 1 other good team...they'd be alright...but no way they handle the constant pressure of say...the ACC...or the SEC...

          They would.

And the reason why is Bo Ryan - one of the best coaches in the country. He can out coach anyone and has, I believe, 3 Div III titles to boot. A winner is a winner.

They're going to be a very tough team.

          Is Dee Brown still around?

I agree that Bo Ryan is a pretty good coach...no doubt about it...and people oughta look at those coaches that win in DI, DII and IAA...

            as OSU did with Tressel...

            as you say...winning is winning...

Dee Brown?...of the Celtic and slam dunk contest fame?

Or the Dee Brown that played for the Fighting Illini...

I'm assuming you are talking about the latter...why wouldn't he be?...I think he was only a soph last year...or even a freshman...

no way that guy went pro...

I wasn't sure if he did or not. I've never seen anyone faster on the transition. He'll be a good pro player.

We should ask NE1, he's an alumn from that University of the Mentally Handicapped.

                LMFAO...

                I don't know for sure...but I think he's staying...

I checked the Illini website...and didn't see anything...but I'm not sure that they would mention anything...

OSU says no to Knight...now focusing their sites on Crean from Marquette...

great coach who's familiar with the Big 11...

Was an assistant at Michigan State under Izzo...they are saying the only way they'll hire him is if he agrees not to bolt the Buckeyes if Izzo ever leaves Mich St.

of course...after past opportunities...if he hasn't gone yet...why go now...
