The OFFICIAL Rugby World Cup thread (2011)

    Any takers?

I know we've got Aussies, Kiwis, Scots and English on this board.

    Who do you like?

Will this finally be the year that the All Blacks live up to their potential?

Can the Springboks do the double (even with an old team)?

Will England repeat their 2007 miracle and reach the final despite playing like shit consistently?

And what the hell is wrong with Ireland?

    Discuss.

I don't care who wins the thing, all that matters is the Scotland v England match on 1st of October.

      Don't fancy Scotland's chances.

They always play with plenty of hearts, but there's neither the depth of talent or any real pace to make them a significant threat.

More of a League fan here. Still, I always manage on jump on the Union WC bandwagon every 4 years.

I have no idea who's hot and what's not. However, given this one is held in New Zealand (and hasn't it been since 1987 since the Kiwis have won it?), I'll be curious to see how the All Blacks perform here.

Argentina were quite impressive in the last one, maybe the Pumas are in with a chance too...

By population of people who actually play the game, England should win it easily every time. I find it amusing how often they don't considering.

England won in 2003 and made the final in 2007. They play it in a very dull way, but no one could deny that it is the sport which they are best at.

I don't fancy France's chances much, to be honest - they blow hot and cold.
