    let's fix college football

and the BCS, Heisman Trophy, and AD's for that matter.

there's something very wrong with college sports at the moment, namely college football lately. USC, Ohio State, Auburn, Alabama, Tennessee, Michigan, Miami (Fl.) and LSU being the top-tier programs that have been the source of controversy these past couple of years.

Something needs to be done. ENOUGH. In between the horseshit BOUGHT National Title game and Heisman by Auburn, and the fact that there is NO sort of playoff allowing no sort of way to truly no who's Number 1, it's really all but ruined saturdays in the fall for me.

    Let me tack this on.

The BCS is bullshit, and leaves me with a sour taste in my mouth in general. I'll do a side by side comparison to it's supposed pro-rival in the super bowl.

The Super Bowl since 99 has been one of the most exciting endings in all of sports. Out of it's 11 years, there's only really been 3 "clunkers" so to speak, and even one could argue that one of the "3" was quite memorable (XL but for all the wrong reasons, but I digress). You never feel that you're all that cheated unless, again you're a Seahawks fan circa 2005 or you're Raiders fan circa 2001.

The Best teams get their chance to make it, and if they can't even make it past the divisional round, then you're SOL, and clearly weren't the better team that day.

Let's go to the BCS on the other hand. I despise it. It's awful and makes you feel cheated. You get games like the '06 and '07 games that were 80's (non Super Bowl XXII-like). As a fan of the game, I strive for better. I'm a sucker for story-lines and drama in games, you want and need that element in the game, and I feel just pretty much handing the "Insert SEC-team here" after a victory over "Insert Big XII/B1G 10/PAC-10" here seems anti-climatic and lame. Give me something different. Give me David/Goliath. Don't give me a BCS circle jerk.

Merge Ohio State, Notre Dame, Michigan State, Duke, North Carolina, and Ball State and make them a part of the lingerie football league, I hear that's the league for bitches

I fucking hate the B_S, too, but I don't think it's going anywhere anytime soon because of the insane amount of money to be had from the current system. That's all it boils down to. They don't give a fuck if we have a true national champion as long as they're raking in all that green from all the corporate sponsored bowl games.

I think it's possible to combine a playoff system with the bowl system. However teams finish in the playoffs determines what bowl games they play in. The final two teams play in the championship game. That month, month and a half dead time they have now between the end of the regular season and the bowl games could be used for the playoff portion of the new system.
