    Cool Deep Purple DVD

    Got this today.

Links are in the bootleg forum.....

The amazing thing is the first bit is 5 songs by the Mark IV version of DP - where the only 2 original members were Jon Lord and Ian Paice.....the others were Coverdale, Hughes and Bolin.

Man, Tommy Bolin was like a fucking square peg trying to fit into a round hole. His playing sucked fucking ass at that gig. I mean, may he rest in peace, but dammit, he just did not belong in that band.

Something I found out while researching this is that the first bit was an officially released film which was released in the 80s on VHS...it is only about 30 minutes long with 5 songs, and was RE-released THIS YEAR on Blue Ray....though what is on this disc is the widespread bootleg from a VHS copy from back in the day.....

Afterwards is an amazing 2 song bit from French TV in 1970. I mean AMAZING.
Then a single song with the MK III lineup (Blackmore, Hughes, Coverdale, Paice and Lord) (Burn).

Then there is a bunch of audience-shot clips of Rainbow from Copenhagen, Denmark in 1976 AND 1977 with RJ Dio on vox, Cozy Powell on drums, etc. THE KICKASS Lineup.

The Rainbow segments have an extended bit where Ritchie methodically destroys a Fender Stratocaster!

Video quality varies, but I was shocked at the performances at some point....the French TV 1970 segment is fucking incredible, and shows Blackmore as the amazing guitarist he is:
