    The Dave TV unreleased songs

I've been a VH-psycho/bootleg collector for about 20 years and I'm still not sure about the unreleased songs Dave put on his Internet "Dave TV" thing at the end of the '90s. Does anyone know the origin or heard of rumors of the origins of these songs? Obviously, unlike what bootlegs/Youtube vids say, "Kicks" and "Crosstown Traffic" are not Van Halen--I always thought that they were "Crazy from the Heat" leftovers. He doesn't have the Kermit The Frog octave in either of those plus they're covers so it makes sense.

"Tramp" certainly seems like "Your Filthy Little Mouth"-era.

"Shine the Light," which despite the Kermit vocals I love, sounds like nothing he's ever done. I was thinking the "A Little Ain't Enough" era. Not Becker of course, but maybe that's Steve Hunter because it doesn't sound like Kilgore.

    Not that anyone answered, but:

After further listens--and I've listened to these many times since '99...that's not '85 Dave. Some guy said at the 46-second-mark on "Crosstown Traffic" Dave did a mid-'90s thing. That about did it. If it was '85 he would've most likely had a high-pitch scream or two like in "California Girls," "Gigolo," or "Easy Street." I'd wager it's from '95 when he did some covers (for The Non-Stop Blues Bustin' Mambo Slammers).

But when the hell's "Shine the Light" from?! Love that song.
