just thought i'd let you all know; the last two days here (13 and 14 sept) i've had a pop up warning 'the site you are visiting is a phishing site' etc.. and it wouldn't let me in till i dialled back my security settings. is this related to the previous google link problem? only an aussie issue perhaps? thanks guys and gals.

Happening all around. Powers that be are aware of the issue & working on a resolution.

Yep. A poster inadvertently posted the link to the attack site, which when viewed not only screwed up the thread, it started to spread through the site and into user's computers. In fact, no one on the mod team could even get into the thread to deal the troublesome post, so the only alternative was to remove the entire thread.
As of now, Google is still listing the ARMY as an attack site. Even more bizarre, the ARMY's icon of a gas mask in the favorites bar on Firefox has been replaced by the red and white icon designated for attack sites.
This headache inducing issue is being handled, but naturally the wheels of justice turn slowly.

The last couple of days Google has been giving warnings about this site. How evil it is and how it's going to invade your system and destroy you. Stay away! Not only that it won't let you enter the site to be a abused by the so called malware. The only thing that was missing was an automatic link to the cabo wabo website or redrocker.com.
Glad stuff is kinda sorted out. And yes, I still have that irritating fucking bar on my Firefox bookmark....

Try this: Delete the bookmark, clean your cache (or use CCleaner), then redo the bookmark by dragging it into the bar. I did this last evening, and it has not returned since.

I got the warning there but not other browsers.
Everything is clean for now...if there are any residual issue...chef is right...if you're still having issues...it's a cache deal...

Yeah I re-bookmarked the site, all is cool.
But check this out. It could have been relevant in some way....hackers hacked a site for a company who issues certificates for some of the largest companies on the net....as well as a lot of high level law enforcement agencies like MI6, the CIA, etc.
The company ended up filing for bankruptcy with some experts saying it was due to the hacking incident:

Those are only two articles on this incident. Some of my friends who are independent internet security consultants posted a lot more info, but the above pretty much says it all...

Starting this morning I am getting a pop-up warning and a, click in this security bar, at the top of the window that wants me to download a program..?
It offers option but doesn't identify what the program is.
Are you using any sort of Malware programs? If so, run a deep scan rather than a brief one. You might also want to run a scan in "safe" mode. (And I do not mean those free downloadable ones. Yes, there were a handful of them that worked OK in the past, but today, the face of internet security has changed drastically.) A good registry cleaning might help as well cleaning out your cache.
In any event, DO NOT click on any link that you fail to recognize or are unfamiliar with, at any site or in your own email. It simply isn't worth the risk.
No, I am not running anything (virus protection etc..) it is IE (internet explorer) warning and only on this site.
It is more than likely something I loaded into my favorites. but I am due to rehab this computer anyway Cashe and Registy ect... jazz.
I am runnig IE6 and I am on purpose I can't log onto many web pages, no HD Youtube,..etc.. but it keeps me from the constant issues micro fukk has attatched to thier web browsers higher than 6.
The program is probably micrsoft ordering me to update my browser I can only get away with 6 for a limited time then they find me and start fucking with my computer. But I love the GAME..lol.
I never click anything that isn't a program I have searched for,... suggested shit gets the boot.
