Clicking around the various states on the map sure produces some interesting results.... Compare it with the infamous "red/blue states" political maps, and notice that states that voted against the BCE in 2000 have higher gas prices now.
Hmmm.... fraudministration with deep ties to both the domestic and foreign oil industry is in power and now gas prices are higher in Democratic states.

that i did. those states are higher because they use special blends of gas as well as haiving high taxes. the other thread on this has a break down of why.
Taxes, at least in this state, have been stable for a decade or longer. As far as the "summer blend" of gas, that may account for the usual price increases in the summer, but the increases since the BCE has occupied the White House are far above that, and they are politically motivated. Poppy did the same thing when he was in the White House.
And the fact that the oil industry (like others) is now controlled by 4 multinational corporations who engage in deliberate price fixing, certainly doesn't help.
Of course the price fixing is illegal, but don't expect the BCE to jail their own friends.

no again read the thread. you were paying what a few weeks ago 1.70? gas went up about 20 cents as it always does BUT if your state didn't have its high taxes even after the gaes went up you would have only hit 1.70. because you have high taxes you price goes even higher. southern states don't hvae those high taxes to begin with so even after a 20 cent jump it isn't that high for them.
In NY state yesterday I bought regular for $2.25 a gallon...although by me, I think gas might be going down...the average is $1.99 a gallon for reg, but I saw $1.89 at this one place in Edison NJ....(that is known to be the cheapest in the area...)
In Southwest Kansas, you will pay anywhere from $ 1.93 to $2.06. It pays to competitive shop here. The station by my house was up to $2.05 and is now back down to $1.98.
