Murphy's work is amazing...the only two examples I've seen up close and played were two of the Gary Rossington models...my best friend's and Doug Aldrich's, and they were almost indistinguishable wear-wise...IIRC Aldrich had some hardware tweaks done to his (he tours, my buddy doesn't, so pretty sure Doug had changed out the tuners) but they were both among the best LPs I've ever played.

There are some fakes out there so good even vintage instrument makers have a hard time telling. I wonder how many suckers paid a fortune for a fake? Of course you don't get burned unless you can find another sucker to unload it onto.

well........I found my Gibson LP was a fake.

but I don't think I was fucked up because it's an amazing guitar, made of high grade materials(Hard maple, Honduras mahogany, Brazilian rosewood, Gibson hardware & PU's) and I didn't pay a lot for it.
Don't notice most of my posts are less than 2 lines...

Don't think I'm the target audience for this.

Listening to him for a bit aged and depressed me.

    No!

I got it at a used gear store that sells guitars, computers. watches etc...

apparently it's US-Made. so I guess it would be something like Slash's LP replica made by MAX.

I you like it and it plays well then it's not all bad. Being a former stock broker you can always find a bigger sucker to unload it off on and make some money. I was once told the key to investing is to find a bigger sucker. That advice came from an investment banker. Now we have found out that the bigger sucker is the tax payer.

Maybe Cato is honest or has some morals. There are a few of us left.
