Lloyd Grant? Hell, even I had to look that one up. He apparently played the solo on the original recording of "Hit The Lights" on the Metal Massacre compilation, but technically wasn't in the band, as he never played a gig with them. Until now, that is.

Officially at that time, Metallica was only Hetfield (who played bass on the recording) Ulrich and Mustaine. McGovney joined about a month or so after that recording, but before the band ever actually played a gig. Then of course, he was gone in about 6 months when they found a better bass player, and the rest is history.......

A former Shipmate of mine is Kirk's 1st cousin, I believe he went to their 2nd show this week. If I ever get to Frisco for whatever reason, I gotta look him up....
