I get Dave's uncle owned the Cafe Wha? The thing is Van Halen is an LA band. I think they should have done it at The Whiskey on Sunset. Even the Roxy if need be. LA really has declined when one of their famous bands no longer wants to do the big kickoff there. I know Dave mentioned he moved to New York from LA because the LA scene wasn't what it used to be and was lacking. I have a friend who moved from LA to Austin, Texas for the same reason. He said Austin is what LA used to be.

Always funny when I hear people say stuff like this. Having visited most major cities in the country, I can say with some authority - L.A. still kicks the sh*t out of pretty much everywhere else (with the possible exception of NYC, but their winters SUCK). No place else I'd rather be.


And most if not all the hot girls from other states still move here anyway, so we win.

It's gotta be original. I love the Who's Tattoo but it isn't fast tempo, and it seems like the Halen one is. I can't imagine Dave doing those moves to the Who version. (just a guess obviously)
