Glad to see he milked his connections to get his ass into a show that many would've cut a limb off to get into. Then Mr. Big Shot spouts off with his "less than impressed" comment. I like the music he plays but I listen to him ramble sometimes and he can be such an ass-clown.

I think Trunk is cool and i look forward to his satelite radio show every week. If not for his show, i couldn't have given a shout out to The Roth Army. The few times i have called and been on the air, he treated me nice and was respectful. One time i even talked with him and Mike Piazza about Accept. I don't agree with a lot of his opinions especially when it comes to Hagar, but i love the fact that he interviews bands of our genre, a lot of which wouldn't have a vehicle to be heard otherwise. Say what you want about his support of Hagar, Kiss and UFO. However, don't forget that he held Dio on high and continues to promote the shit of the likes of Sabbath, Iron Maiden and Judas Priest. I loved the 80's and most of the hard rock that was created therein. Where else am i going to find out what is new with Crue and Ratt, have Halford call in and bullshit for awhile, and get killer tunes along the way? Lastly, he was talking about Tattoo and not passing judgement based on that track alone. That is no different than all of the people around here that talk about how they love 1984 except for hating Jump.

Maybe because he is the host of the leading televised Music / Rock and Roll talk show going right now.

Should they have sent some more of The RA members,.. well, Hell Yeah! they should have..but all this -why Trunk?- just sounds stupid.
Maybe due to Trunks comments about VH and negativity, gave DDE and The Van Halen Machines, the oportunity to live review thier new tune and sound in front of what no-one would call a stacked deck of fans or editorial music writers.

That story was in the liner notes for their "Reel To Real" album, but the story was that Jeff Keith "won a vocal contest singing a Sammy Hagar song just days before joining the band". He was leaving the band Troubleshooter, which he was in with his brother, to form City Kidd with Frank, Brian, Tommy and Troy in 1984, which was later renamed Tesla.

This version doesn't need the Eddie Trunk / That Metal Show stamp of approval any more than they did four years ago.
Trunk can dislike the new album all he likes and can have Mike Anthony and Sam Hagar on TMS every other week; Chickenfoot ain't gonna move any albums or fill any halls even close to what Van Halen 2012 will.

I am hoping that the receipt totals for this tour will show all those talking heads out there that they have been talking out of their collective ases!!
They did $93M last time out but I don't think surpassing that will be a problem. The 2007 tour didn't have NEAR the publicity OR a new album to go with it.
That "IT AIN'T VH W/O DLR" T-shirt is probably the one I wear the most when I get to be in public places.
Trunk's most wore t-shirt (with sweat & food stains, smell and all) is a White Castle one.
He wore it a gig at the high school and it was a big hit! He's just about to wear it out

I do not miss Michael Anthony because these songs are not built on constant harmonies to support the songs, these are more gang vocal oriented and get the hell out of my way songs which is a welcome change from the dreaded ballads of the Hagritte years.
I'm not missing Mike... WOLF KICKS MAJOR ASS! As for interviewers, damn I would love to see George Strombopolous have a sit-down interview with Dave.

Got to be honest I don't miss Anthony. As cool as it would be to have the original four but I don't think his participation isn't essential. DLR, Eddie & Al are the Van Halen sound. Besides, Wolf is really holding it down live singing and playing his ass off. VH is all over the media and they deserve all the praises cause they made a kick ass f'n record!
The only one missing Michael Anthony right about now is Michael Anthony.
