Just rolled in !! Bottom line. Van Halen melted St. Paul tonight !!! I read back some of the posts. Loved the Ed has no teeth and Dave is on drugs !! Whatever man. People are fucked up !! No mention of the postponed shows but during one song on the big screen it said Van Halen World tour ! & Stay Frosty. I'm not sure if this was at the last show ? Anyway they killed it ! So fucking hot in there ! Cradle Will Rock was a great suprise !! I was just saying yesterday in a post they need to bring it back or Mean Street. I think it replaced Girl Gone Bad ? Eddie was fucking great !!! The best tone he has ever had live IMO. Dave was great. Moved around alot. I know he has had his problems but he was on the money tonight. Even Dance The Night Away he sounded great on. I don't think the You Tube videos do these guys any favors at all !! I'm not much for reviews so I want to kep it short. Bottom line. Van Halen is alive and well !! Wolf may have been handed a spot but he really has earned it this tour. Sorry Mike. The 3 Van Halens are scary good live !!! Go see them !!! Awesome show. I want one more album & tour if they can play like that !

Oh I was on the lookout for Roth Army shirts but I really didn't see any before or after the show in the bars. I would have said something. Would have been cool to meet some peeps from here. Maybe in 2 years if we are lucky !!! I meet a couple of my cousins up there. They all loved them. A guy I grew up with called Dave a showboat !! Really !!! We all gave him shit.

Zing Is wiped out - review to come - but in a monkey butt, it was a killer show. No mention of postponed dates, band looked happy and tight! We got Cradle, Ed was a god, Dave was hoarse midway through but still managed a few screams toward the end. DTNA sounded great. Close enough to grab a handful of confetti. Night night...

Certainly not trying to bully anyone - I don't really care what does turn her on, and it's not like I started tweeting her all sorts of insults. IMO, she insulted Dave because of his age, and I take offense to that. When I'm drinking and someone criticizes Dave, I attack. Sorry if that offended anyone.

With high kick and more, Van Halen was band of old
Article by: CHRIS RIEMENSCHNEIDER , Star Tribune Updated: May 20, 2012 - 7:00 AM
David Lee Roth and his Van Halen bandmates played to a crowd of 14,000 at the X in St. Paul.
All eyes in Van Halenville were on St. Paul's Xcel Energy Center on Saturday night.
Eddie Van Halen and his namesake band -- once again featuring original singer David Lee Roth -- slinked into town under a cloud of speculation and rumors of stormy infighting.
The quartet unceremoniously canceled most of what's left of its tour without explanation Thursday. St. Paul was the first of 14 dates left penciled in on the calendar, seemingly with an asterisk.
All the question marks quickly turned to exclamation points, though, as the band opened Saturday's set with two of its wickedest classics, "Unchained" and "Runnin' With the Devil," and fans shouted expletives in approval. If there is behind-the-scenes drama going on, it only came out on stage as pent-up aggression.
The show's first half was laden with some of the band's heaviest tunes, also including "Everybody Wants Some," "Somebody Get Me a Doctor" and the lesser-played "Romeo Delight." As Eddie cranked out the solo in the latter tune, Diamond Dave cozied up to him and smiled as if they were best buds. At least they still make good bandmates.
With Alex Van Halen (Eddie's brother) on drums, as always, and Wolfgang Van Halen (Eddie's son) filling in again on bass as he did on a 2007 tour, the band sounded plenty tight and monstrous.
Roth sounded a little haggard but looked to be in good shape, too. He even pulled off one of his famous high kicks early on. It impressed fans and crew members alike -- they re-showed the kick on the big screen in slow motion.
See the full review of Saturday's concert in Monday's Variety section or online Sunday at startribune.com/music.

Quick little observation:
From my seat in section 120 I had a clear view behind Al's drum riser and could easily see the band as they would come and go and hang out during solos and other parts of the show. Any suggestion from supposedly credible rock news sources that there is infighting were put to rest by what I saw. The band not only were getting along great in the pit area behind the drums, they were actually being somewhat silly and having fun - lots of smiles (even from Alex!) and kidding around. When Dave left the stage for Al's solo and went down the steps to a small corridor under the big screen, the fans in our section gave him some love with lots of screams and whistles. Dave seemed genuinely appreciative of the gesture. With a huge smile on his face, he bowed deeply and blew us a huge kiss. Cool moment.

I know....but I am still digging that they are including this. 1984 was my first VH album. I played that vinyl a billion times those nights when I was too young to go out and didn't drive. I'd sit in my room with my guitar and every rock magazine I could find, a roll of scotch tape & scissors to find the great pics that would wallpaper my room.
