speaking of wardrobe...Dave wore a FANTASTIC shirt at the end...it was black and white and looked like a race flag. And he had something on his head that looked like a huge sewer rat pulled from the big dig. WTF was THAT??
Had the privilege of going to sound check at Mohegan. Dave wasn't there. The guy from live nation told us (when a couple of us asked him afterwards) that he never goes. Says he doesn't wanna ruin his voice before a show.

Thats the smart thing to do.. Keep it as fresh as possible... Shoes, was tryin to catch up with you and your possey, the chow joint fours was crazy busy. WE WERE LIT UP after the Fours.. I think and hope they are gonna do the same thing they did last tour, take a break after this leg and bang out another 30-40 shows. Thats when we hit Pvd, Mohegan, and Boston again. Plus the tixx should be a little cheaper... Keep the faith... We will all meet up summer time...
I went too. Tweeter in mass, and Lake Compounce (think thats what its called) in conn... I went cuz I knew Dave was closing both shows.. I just want to see Dave anytime he is in New England....

I omitted I was talkin about the ROTH hager tour in 02...
I was at Boston Beer Works before the show and it was off the hook with V.H. fans. I didn't know what I was doing right up til the last minute. I tend to fly by the seat of my pants. We were invited to a reception in The Partners Room at the Garden but we bailed on that to stay at BBW for a bit longer. I had my very own crackhead singing to me outside the window. Cant beat that with a stick!!
My seats turned out decent too. Section 111.
I KNOW Warf had tickets to this show. Told me so himself.

Yeah we found the only way to have a real pre-party is to make reservations some place at a specific time and have them put up signs at the door etc. Shirts and descriptions do not help at all.

Just rocking our asses off, no top hats, blow-up micock's, no sailor hats and now mike firmly back in hand while the give us what we wanted & waited 3 decades for tour, keeps making this better than any of us could have dreamed.
When they come home June 1st I won't be a bit surprised if the wood floor gets replaced with rubber mat and as they launch Unchained, Dave takes flight for one last 12' spinal slams, as the perfect tour gets cemented as the Best R&R Show in 25 years. That and adding Sinners Swing & Fools, week later swapped for Take Your Whisky Home & In a Simple Rhyme....
We're at the point where you don't want to miss a gem, now sure won't be able to Not see all 5 SoCal shows going in VH debt, but that's OK, I don't have another 28 years left anyway......Blood & Fire must be regular roation in place of Trouble with Never, and CTown should rotate Stay Frosty, As Is etc.......other than that this could not be better.

Wow... this show might have produced the best live version of Dance the Night Away that I have ever heard.
Uncle Dave is a little lost with the lyrics but he pulls it together from the middle of the tune to the end. The music sounds absolutely killer......Eddie is firing on all cylinders. Maybe Dave can sing the lyrics to Last Night next time.......He's been getting better with the lyrics through repetition so hopefully they keep jamming this killer tune out. It still sounds kick ass to me. You see Wolf finger tapping the ending? That kid can play.....Al still has plenty left in the tank too....I would love to hear Dave remember the lyrics....but then again he's never been spot on with the lyrics....what he lacks technically he more than makes up with charisma. He's the ultimate front man. I was listening to the famous 1979 Fresno....1st night of the second world tour show the other day and he is spotty with the lyrics a few times.....doesn't matter....by the way, that Fresno show is absolutely killer.....they were a beast back then.....still are.
