With a different voicing, did it still have that "cocked wah" tone? That's what I don't like about the 100 watter, it has this nasal cocked wah thing going on I couldn't dial out. I'm also interested in the 50 watter and how the resonance control on the back interacts with the amp.
    This space for rent.

    I'm shocked that Tattoo is in A- 440 .

Soon I won't have to wonder if any songs on the album are tuned down a half step.

I think it's one of these:

    MXR Analog Chorus

This all-analog pedal uses bucket-brigade circuitry to create classically lush, liquid textures that you just can’t get with digital circuitry. Rate, Level, and Depth controls, as well as knobs for cutting High and Low frequencies allow ultimate tone control. Like all MXR pedals, the M-234 comes in a heavy-duty housing with durable jacks and switches for a lifetime on the road.

So he will have a rack delay?

I'm building up a new set of effects pedals after using a multi-effects thing for ages.

I have an MXR Distortion, Phase 90, MXR EQ and a Crybaby Wah. I think I need to add a digital delay and a harmonizer and/or chorus.

The Boss digital delays are still quite expensive, if I'm just going to have a short slap back delay could I get away with a cheaper Digitech do you think?

My ego is of such an extraordinary size I prefer not to be endorsing anyone else with my live gear...

If Ed wants to stick a muppet on his amp though I'm fine with that.

It didn't as far as I could tell, but I'd like to try it out in a more controlled setting, minus all the chaos...

if you like it when every delay regeneration sounds darker, there's NO Analog Delay mode! The Tape Delay mode doesn't deliver this.

Here's an example of a true Analog Delay:

Not really cheap but my favorite versatile Delay is the T.C. Electronic Flashback Delay.

Have you looked into this one:

MXR makes a great product... check out some demo videos at the site: LINK

I'm waiting for my Danelectro delay to die and I'm getting one of those...

    Thanks everyone.

All three of those are about the same price as the Boss here i.e. close to $200. I guess I'll need to just sit and compare them in a shop.

Just in case you absolutely don't want to spend so much cash - Rocktron Short Timer ($80 or less) is a digital delay with analog ambitions. Maybe it sounds too bright and clear.

Especially in a mono setup it's important that every delay repeat sounds darker to get audible depth. A true Analog Delay would be the better choice.

What about the Line6 Echo Park?
Why settle for something you have, if it's not as good as something you're out to get?

    Sorry I missed this question.

The last couple of years most of the time I've just been using a Floor Pod straight into the mixing desk because it's all been writing and pre pre recording.

They are totally ok for doing that with a bit of fiddling around.

We are now moving to pre recording.

I've since bought a Boss PS-5 SUPER Shifter, an MXR Analog Chorus and a Boss powered pedal board to stick it all in. I'm probably still going to get the MXR Carbon Copy and then I'm definitely stopping before this gets out of hand.

I also got a Korg Pitchblack Tuner which is the best I've ever come across.
