Just listened to Tattoo in its entirety for the first time and......I am blown away. What a brilliant comeback. After all these years, this is truly a fitting song to announce the return of the great David Lee Roth and the rebirth of Van Halen in the studio. Tattoo will certainly get a lot of airplay and give the band appeal across a broad demographic. It will grab those in the younger generation who appreciate classic rock and expose more people to the CVH era.
Everything about this track is impressive. The lrics are cool and edgey, it's heavy yet groovy, and Eddie's solo is pure Edward Van Halen. Wow - can't wait for the album, which I suspect will be packed with that old Van Halen attitude.

I don't compare it to nothing and take it as a starting point...after 28 years it's a "new" chemistry based on the old magic...works perfect for me...

On a sad note, I was planning on buying the new album at the same music store I bought 1984 back in the day. I can still remember rushing in there during my lunch break and seeing THAT cover (Panamark, you may remember the Muses in Regent Arcade, Rundle Mall?) It's changed location a few time but that's cool......then I found out today it closed a few weeks ago after 43 years due to downloads and the big chains. DAMNIT! I was also going to buy the single rather than download it.
I miss the old days.

Officially awesome!!! I LOVE this song!!! It rocks in a laid back but very in your face way. Roth sounds awesome and Eddie seems to be loving it, not to mention hes blazing away. The lead off single is just a taste of whats to come I believe. The video kind of reminds me of jump. Bring on the album and tour folks!!!
Just got done watching this. I love the vibe they've got going in the video.
I'm not sure if it's the encoding on vimeo or what, but the audio looks a little out of sync. Maybe it's just my computer. Does anybody else notice this? I'm going to see if I can make it match up better.
