Relax, folks......
YES. It sounds like solo Dave.

When that bridge comes in and caves your jaw in.....
Nothin but yeah!

EAT US AND SMILE
I think it is...
As many said, it sounds a lot like Dave solo - could it be
some?... There have been many outcuts from his solo career
circulating, but who knows, maybe we missed this one....
Can Amazon be trusted when they post this as a clip from
"Tattoo", whereas the Band has thoroughly avoided leaking
anything so far?
Just my 2 eurocents
You couldn't put this in any of the other Tattoo threads....
Sigh, moving....
Eat Us And Smile - The Originals
"I have a very belligerent enthusiasm or an enthusiastic belligerence. I’m an intellectual slut." - David Lee Roth
"We are part of the, not just the culture, but the geography. Van Halen music goes along with like fries with the burger." - David Lee Roth
I really like the new clip. Got a great vibe and what I heard plays well into Dave's best vocal range. Lyrically... old school CVH/Diamond Dave. That's a key component. The verse rhythm and bridge to chorus sounds like a perfect launch pad for a kick ass Eddie guitar solo... also leaves room for some nice stop registers and potential for a little bass showcasing. Looking forward to hear the whole enchilada...
I know I was not happy with She's the Woman the other night... it's growing on me. It's not a bad song, but the main riff is pretty over utilized in a lot of other rock songs. This version reminded me of Molly Hatchet's Gator Cuntry played at high speed. I guess we'll see how it fits in with the overall album content.
Still pretty damned excited!!!
"If you want to be a monk... you gotta cook a lot of rice...”
i like it
as long as there's no fucking synthesizers i'm happy
I just hope it ain't a diss on chicks with ink.

Three words. WE WERE THERE.
30 sec clip is cooler than anything van hagar ever did
Eat Us and Smile!
Alright!!! Lemme' se yo hands!!
I always loved that Down In Flames main riff and I'm glad they're finally using it in a released version of one of their songs. Sounds good to me so far, those short 30 seconds blow away anything this band has done in quite some time...definitely better than anything on VDIII and the 3 Hagar abortions from 2004. Ed's guitar sounds good and so does Dave's voice...can't wait to hear the rest of the song Tuesday.
Since it's nearly 5 minutes long, you just know this song is going to take off at one point. It's probably a really dynamic track. I'm looking forward to hearing the rest.

We listening to the same clip? There's a pinch of synth in the background. Hate to mention the other era at a time like this, but the synth reminds me little bit of what's behind the solo to Poundcake. I think thats Ed's old stand by track-flesher-outer sound. Works for me!
The vocals sound like something off a solo Dave album, but I like that.
Only 3 more days!

I was hoping for Let's Get Rockin' or Big Trouble (which we may still get), but I was happy with She's The Woman and like you, the more I hear it the more I fucking love it! Imagine how great it's going to sound on the album.
I think Tattoo is going to announce these guys to the world. From just 30 seconds, it sounds like the kind of track hardrock-loving Aussies - of all ages - will love to hear.
The subject matter and hearing the word "bombshell" in the lyrics has me wishfully thinking Dave may have been lurking around here and seen my siggy.
Laying around the house with Mrs. Whorehey, we're checking out
the early edition of the Sunday paper. I'm checking out
the Best Buy flyer thinking they MIGHT have the digital single
artwork in the music section. Bunch of CD's marked down
to $7.99 this week.
III guesses what was among them?
'Cause three holes are better than a hole-in-one!!!
Chickenshit III?
Yuuuuuup!O
I've never been the guy that likes the hit song usually. It's rarely the best song on an album for me. The least favorite song on 1984 for me is Jump. I didn't care for And The Cradle Will Rock either. I find it odd that the songs that got all the attention were keyboard songs. I think Tattoo will be the same type of deal and I hope to hear some real rockers on the album.
