How do you rip yourself off?

How do you rip yourself off?
They need to fire whoever the fuck is in charge of the editing at CBS. The song is called "She's The Woman", not "He's The Woman" you dumbasses!
What fucking fuck tards!
Why the fuck is it a scandal to play a song that you fucking wrote... oh well, any press is good press.
What do you expect? The people technically should never have fucking heard Down in Flames in the first place because it was UNRELEASED. Nobody bought Down in Flames. Why do people have to be schooled in song sections?
The internet has made people think that pissing and moaning about things that aren't important is acceptable.
It's not, it's petty.
oh shit
Hell, if ripping yourself off is a crime wouldn't AC/DC be in jail years ago.....even they admit to ripping themselves off.
The songs written were demos and bands from the Rolling Stones to the Beatles have gone back and used material that didn't make the cut years after the fact.
This just tells me the music is so good that the have to reach way back to have anything to bitch about or try to stir up controversy!
Spammy's comments a few months ago about Ed using old songs to make the new album is fueling this.
Fucking chicken fucker piece of shit.
Ed has been going back to HIS repertorie of riffs, etc since the first album -- (and take note Fagar, he was still doing it during your faggot years in the band).

Ed claimed he had 10 albums worth of material... I would imagine it was all aimless meandering as evidenced by the porno soundtrack he did. Going back to their roots was a brilliant move and probably an excellent way to get Ed focused and more disciplined in his craft. I'm not 100% convinced that we are ever going to get another Van Halen album (man, I wish they would follow the lead that Black Country Communion is setting... they are doing their 3rd album over the summer) but if we do, this 'rape of the vaults' was the perfect first step in getting back in the ring.
Probably a Van Hagar cock lover wrote this shit!!!
Exactly - but we don't know if it really was a complete 'rape of the vaults' until the album is out.
Ed has been tapping into his own stuff for ideas for decades - but I do agree going back to the way he played back in the 70s was the perfect way to get the band energized again. To recapture the essence of CVH, I think it was a great move.
I had no problem with Tattoo or She's the Woman (sure half of it's old and the second half is new and is great), but I hope there are songs that were done from scratch. EVH has good stuff that was unheard from some of the NAMM appearences.
I don't put any stock in anything the media says. If the tunes are powerful and solid and I want to hear them more than once, that's fine.
Remember the media also fueled the Monkees not playing their instruments.
It was a TV SHOW about a band. Guess that was too much for folks to understand.

How fuckin bad ass would it be if BBC opened for VH
The press is the press, anything and everything that is written can only help. Bad press will get people curious to listen and potentially buy more. Good press will further this....
Let's see how ticket sales are starting this week...that is the true barometer.
Someone had an interesting comment on the CBS page:
"This seems like a slanted article because Van Halen didn't sign with CBS/Sony/Viacom. "
As Sam Kinison once said: CBS STANDS FOR COCKSUCKING BASTARD SONSABITCHES!!!
internet is full of fuckwads. everything misquoted and everyone misinformed. You've gotta be smart when reading online, back-checking facts and all. Now a guy like Roy Hagar can say he sold more shows and albums than CVH and some people are going to verbatim that.
I find the personal opinions and posts on this site to be mostly VERY accurate.

Interesting. They also had engineers to dial up the crowd noise in the mix.
Wonder if they could even hear themselves while playing. Seems doubtful.
Hendrix was signed as an opening act for the Monkees tour back in 67. Only lasted a couple of shows when the promoters realized that was a stupid choice...
Speaking of getting facts straight... anyone read the Van Halen Bio on TicketMaster..?

Really surprised me when I read that Dave has been fired at least twice from VH and laid off once...
Some snippets:
During their 1984 tour, each member played separate solo sets and were physically separated on the stage. Roth was unhappy with Eddie's appearance on Michael Jackson's 1983 hit "Beat It," and Eddie grew tired of the comic antics of Roth. In 1985, Roth released a solo EP, Crazy from the Heat, which spawned hit covers of "California Girls" and "Just a Gigolo/I Ain't Got Nobody." When Roth delayed the recording of Van Halen's follow-up to 1984, he was fired from the band.According to Hagar, Eddie fired him shortly afterward; Eddie claimed Hagar quit. Roth proceeded to record two new songs for Van Halen's Best Of, Vol. 1, and once the reunion became public, the rock media reacted positively to the news; MTV began airing a welcome back commercial days after the announcement. However, the reunion was not to be. Following an appearance at the MTV Music Awards, Eddie Van Halen fired Roth from the band, claiming that he was only on board to record two new songs.Cherone was dismissed from Van Halen in 1999. Immediately, rumors began to swirl once more of an impending David Lee Roth/Van Halen reunion. Things were kept completely hush-hush in the Van Halen camp until early 2001, when David Lee Roth went public on his website with an update, confirming that he had recorded several new songs with the band (tracks that Roth described as amazing, phenomenal, and astonishing), but hadn't heard back from them since the previous summer.
Only a few days after Roth's news, Eddie Van Halen admitted to the public that he was battling cancer, but was told by his doctors that chances were good for a complete recovery. In the summer of 2001, Eddie told MTV News that the band's remaining members had penned a total of three albums' worth of new material and that they were still unsure of who their next singer would be. Months later, fans were shocked to hear that the band parted ways with Warner Bros., its label since 1979. The bandmembers blamed the label for promoting younger bands, while also admitting that they had not yet found Cherone's replacement and were no longer considering Roth.
