I'll try to remember to stop by and check it out...
Really nice guy. Has been putting together some sweet axes lately...in custom colors. He is a friend of a good friend of mine in Seattle who is a major gear freak.
Awesome.....
we expext a "full report" J!!!
So jealous....we need somebody to go to the Southern Namm
I always thought it was in Texas.......
actually July 12-14th Knashville..............
I stand corrected!
Jay! As usual, we expect your exclusive up to the minute coverage this year!
Trolls take heed...LOG OUT & FUCK OFF!!!
Summer NAMM was always in Gnashville....until about 3 years ago...they had it somewhere else for a couple of years....but now it is back in Gnashville...for at least the next 3 years.
I'll keep you posted, no worries!
Jay, if Yngwie shows up, get me an autograph...
Please...
Just got back, didn't do the post-show booze tonight, but will defiitely be getting piddly with the gang tomorrow and Saturday night! Too beat to deal with posting pics but don't worry, I'm gettin' them.
Quick synopsis: Played through the 50-watt EVH head again...JUST as amazing as I remebered. Wants. Charvel's back in a big way this year. Marshall's doing the "wall of amps that can't be played" deal again...conspicously absent this year is Mesa-Boogie (!) Tons more to do tomorrow, will update.
Anyone seen anything new from Gretsch?

Hope people can see these pics.....
Friend of mine is the photog. Killer shots
I want one of each of these 1 watt Marshall heads....
This space for rent.
I'd like one of these NAMM axe's too.....
Meh.
Our bass player has one, waste of money.
Well that's obviously too many you should have got money off when they made that mistake.
sesh,
blackstar = great bang for buck.
Had a jam with some old friends last night. The other guitarist used a "newish" Vox combo driving an external 4x12 cab. I gotta say, the fuckin thing ROCKED!
Right on, man!
Those 1-watt Marshall heads look cool, lol. For 1 watt, I would hope they do not cost too much. Do the fronts match the model? Do they have a JCM800-1? Tube heads?
This year has been far...sillier than recent ones...taking lots of pics I'll get around to posting tommorow or Monday...still here... It's been a blur, but met with Avid, hung out with Pete from iheartguitar.com for a bit (cool dude, great guitar blog) and of course the Floyd Upgrades/Boogie Bodies/D-Tuna gang...teched a friend's band's quickie set at the MTD charity gig...good times!
And though I'm not usually into showing my mug here my friend did shoot some footage of me checking out the 50-watt EVH 5150 III head...

sounds like it was noisy over there. Does the 50 watt seem to have better power-stage distortion at moderate level or is it all just preamp distortion?
I think a 50-watt might sound better than a 100/120 watt especially if you can't blast the 100/120 watt amp without overpowering everyone
Me too, especially for smaller venues...and yes, the 50-watt. IMOsounds better at lower volume than the 100, at least side-by-side in that cacaphonous setting..
.NAMM, as great and fun as it is, can still be like one imagines sticking your head in a beehive for 4 days...
I am digging the 50th Anniversary Jaguar Guitar Fender Debuted with block inlays, bound fretboard.
Should be COOL!@
I bought a Fender 63 Reverb tank and have gotten totally addicted to it. I'm playing a lot of surf guitar and was thinking a Jag would be cool. I think they are a shorter scale than a Strat. Right now I'm kind of into an early 60's thing. I want to decorate a room full of tacky tiki stuff now. LOL!
The Custom Shop had some cool offerings...I notice some manufacturers are keeping the lighting super low in their booths to discourage pictures getting out of items not officially debuted yet...but I got some Gretsch booth photos for you as promised...
Here's the giant-killing EVH 5150 III 50-watt..
The wall of Marshalls that could of course not be played through again this year...
More Fender Custom shope beauties...
And a couple of ESPs...
