    Stage set-up

Noticed the seating chart for Indy on TM shows a VH-specific layout with a ramp comin' out from EVH's side... Anybody else seen or heard anything? That thing has to be ready if rehearsals get under way this week. Any dirt there? LA Forum all over again?
No light at the end of the tunnel, due to budget constraints...

Have no idea. But even on YouToooob as the positive comments are rolling now...they are asking the same thing.

Anything can be better. The 07/08 stage set up was really lame.

Yeah they need to stop doing these walkways into the audience and just go back to the basic big stage. I actually thought Dave had the best stage on the Eat Em and Smile Tour. That one has never been topped in my book.

Interesting, I gues... I'd prefer a center ramp, like the US Fest, but this will do... I sure hope Ed goes wireless again, but I doubt it.

There is no G and H and they couldn't offer me any other information when I called. I assumed they split up the floor and added three more sections further back in the building, but it would be nice if they would at least show you what you're getting when they're charging you $172 for a ticket.

there was a small ego ramp right in the middle of the EEAS stage.

when i saw the EEAS show in Toledo, Steve and Billy were flanking Dave on the ramp...Billy and Steve backed up toward their usual spots on the stage and just then a guy comes running out from behind Steve's amps. he jumped over Dave (who's kneeling, singing to a chick) into the crowd, and probably took 50 people on the floor out. the whole arena was general admission.

I hope Eddie does his solo out on the end of the ramp. Doubt it thought. In 2007 he didn't step foot on the S ramp.

In 2007 he would have walked right off of it. Glad to see he looks in better condition now.

That drove me crazy, he was always fucking with that through the show.

I hope he goes wireless, but probably not, he doesn't like the effect it has on his sound.

That stage was what woulda/shoulda been the stage for the follow up to 1984's w Dave though.

I just noticed Ed was running a wireless setup at the Cafe Wha? show. With a stage that small... why go wireless. This may be a good sign for the big stage...

Always thought his cable wrangling took away from his performances and focus on just playing...

    Well, you're a real stoicist!

I wonder if your post count reset means your posts have disappeared... I'll check it out.

Back to topic, whatever kind of stage they use I hope Ed and Wolf (who seems much more
self-assured now) will fill it more physically than in 2007-2008.
As for Dave, of course, no wonder!
(though we won't be back in 1984 of course)

I agree, Ed seemed distracted by the cable.

    Now that you mention it..........

Ed could of used a 10 foot cable and been fine @ Cafe Wha? and uses a cord on a huge stage for the 07/08 tour?

It seems to me when you're playing huge places, by the very nature of the beast, you're not going to get a good sound anyways. Plus, most people aren't going to notice the subtleties....

Wouldn't you rather have the freedom to move around?

Maybe Alex, Dave & the other powers kept Eddie wired in 2007 so he couldn't wander away? My grandma used to do that shit.

I think the 15-ft. T-bone extension from the center stage is the coolest stage setup ever --- and it's fully compatible with Eddie being cabled.

Besides, the T-bone extension will likely bring back that cool rap that Dave made so legendary --- "Got myself a brand new Louisville scarf right here, aye yeah!" --- "Got myself a Toronto scarf right here, aye yeah!" --- etc, etc
