So why no interviews?
It's just got to be that they can't talk about Sam.
How can you not as an interviewer bring up the fact that Van Hagar sold twice as many albums as classic VH?

BABY PANA 2 IS Coming !! All across the land, let the love and beer flow !
Love ya Mary Frances!
i talked to Brian Young after Dave's HOB show here in Cleveland. what was that, '06? told him i thought they got a raw deal, and that i felt Dave was set up to fail. he says "we were absolutely set up to fail." we talked a little about the Miami thing, and how Dave was telling Brian hey, we're gonna get through this, and it's gonna be okay.
that is not entirely true...
it got to the point where i felt why record them, when CBS was putting the clips online? so we just posted their links. we had a pretty good idea the show was ending when it did, so yeah i recorded the last day. someone gave us one show i didn't record, we called it the "lost show" but i don't remember if that was from the Miami week or when Dave went off on management.

I don't think for a minute that we're gonna hear one word from Dave about Sam, or Chickenfoot, or Mikey, or anything remotely close to talking about the dark years that Eddie put us through. What's he gonna talk about? Gary's Dance Of The Flaming Assholes he did onstage when he was fronting Dave's former back-up band???
American by birth. Southern by the grace of God.
See thats what Im kinda thinking.....
These guys are going to just erase Van Hagar from the world's collective memory.
ZERO mention. No live interviews. Scripted words about Van HALEN. As in 1983, 1984, 1984 1/2, 2007, 2008 etc. Those other years never happened.
Which in a way kinda sucks...... But it's fucking brilliant!
And like Pana said, It's the perfect parting shot to the bloated moose.
i have a feeling there will be a Guitar World interview, but i don't think they'd get Ed to go over how Dave got back in the band.
Hence the mad Obi Wan skills of Mr. DLR. Believe me, they're gonna ask.

and meth. crikey, that's one drug i'll die without trying!
GW..."Ok, so how did Dave wind up back in the band?"
Ed..."Uhhh...well....Uhhh...I chase tone man, you know? I chase tone."
GW..."Ok, Dave, so how did you wind up back in the band?"
Dave - "I AM Van Halen motherfucker!"
he's in...so who cares...

First official owner of ADKOT (Deluxe Version)
27 years...27 fucking years since Dave was at the helm of VH...and we're literally days away from a new VH record...What more is there to say???
donnie, i'm fucking gonna be at that record store at opening time. i know grant's got the day off to crank his stereo and drink beer; we're gonna be posting reviews immediately but i'll have to work so i can't drink till 6pm my time.
pumped doesn't begin to describe how i feel. =VH=
haha! same time, g!!
the definition of 'indefinitely'... when your balls slap against her arse.
The 'Lost show' was the first and main time Roth lost it on the air with CBS and spent 20 minutes calling them retards and morons. It was by a long way one of the best shows but they caught everyone off guard by not surprisingly failing to put it online, Turned out that someone had a raw copy which he sent to me which I knocked into shape and put up, Don't think I have it anymore but I think I'll have a look just in case.
FFS!.. so Spam likes it when Satch "gift-wraps" him a song.. OK.. I'll bite
Never listened to a CF song in my life so I tried to listen to "Soap on Rope" ... I WAS ALMOST ILL.. 60 seconds of my life I will never get back.
If I was Satch and gave Spam a riff and that's the best he came back with... I'd throw it in the Cheeseburglar's fckn face.. that was atrocious.
FFS... deluded sheep... sorry Satch but Spam ain't your guy...

(sorry did not know where to post but thought here was appropriate)
on a better note... we are even closer to new VH album as I type..

As I said before Chickenfoot are surprisingly bad. I never bothered listening to their second album to see if they had got any better.
I actually gave chickenfoot a listen with an open mind and tried about five tracks out.I found it to be extremely bland. They are not much of a super group. They sound more like a bunch of guys you would find in a little bar on a Friday night
I really love you baby, I love what you've got
Let's get together we can, Get hot
Yep, look, I like most Satch (a big part of most people's guitar music of the 80's/90's - but not buying him in this "ahem-super group"/band situation), I like Chad, I like Mikey... shame it wasn't an instrumental... but yep.. you are right... CF=meh.
VH = Champion Team.. BIG difference..
If i heard the music out in a bar on a friday covered by some local band (I know ) i would probably think "Eh,not bad",But the whole idea of these guys as a super group just does not work.I also like Satch,I dig Chad and I dig Mike in there respective bands but put together with Sammy's high scratchy vocals and the result is completely underwhelming.Super group?,I think not
I think i will stick with Tattoo
I gave Chickenfoot a listen to have an informed opinion on it. I agree - it's an "extremely bland" album. I don't hear any chemistry in the music and it's just a waste of a release. No wonder it got no airplay in Australia. And Sammy's lyrics are as dull as always. There's just no chance at all of being able to connect with anything this guy writes.
Yep... first listen to Tattoo put a big smile on my face..... just talking to my missus and she knows how pumped I am/was for this.. I played her Tattoo when it first came out and she was happy and went "That's really cool, I like it" ..
God help me if I waited that long for "Soap on a Rope" and played that to her.. who knows what she would have said...who even knows if I'd still have a missus....
Here was Spammy's going away present. Unfortunately Eddie wasn't sober enough to have the guitar land on Fagar's head. Plus, let's not forget his famous last words on this mediocre tour:
"THERE'S YOUR KING!"
Yep - VAN HALEN DAY has been written on the calendar at our house. It's like a holiday - everybody gets the day off of work - cruising into town and will be waiting at the record store for the doors to open. Then spending the day cruising, blasting ADKOT - then back home, beers out in the garage with the disk on repeat until the wifey says it's time for bed. Can't wait!
My karma just ran over your dogma.
