    http://blog.seattlepi.com/seattle911...-want-to-know/

Any of you guys up in the NW, keep your eyes peeled for this shit if you regularly peruse Craigslist

Have You Seen These Guitars? Cops Want To Know!

The snow may stop some schools from being in session, but criminals around Seattle haven’t slowed down.

About 4:20 a.m. Tuesday, the Georgetown Music Store was burglarized and thousands of dollars of equipment was stolen.

“Most of them were in the $2,000 range,” owner Michael A. Smith said of the guitars taken. “What I’m trying to do today is get the word out because they’re pretty distinct and some have serial numbers on there.”

Smith owned the Trading Musician in Ravenna for more than two decades and started Georgetown Music in 2009 at 6111 13th Ave. S., the former site of the Georgetown Pharmacy. Smith said he has caught people trying to sell stolen items before and once at his previous store he caught a guy trying to sell a $3,000 standup bass. Now he’s hoping someone in the Northwest music community will keep an eye out for him.

“Music stores inherently get broke into a lot,” Smith said. “But I’ve never been hit this hard.”

A list of the items that Smith and a co-worker said were taken is below. Anyone with information is asked call 911:

I think we should go back to shooting people with rock salt. My mom got shot for stealing watermelons. Lesson learned. Years ago I used to work in a cabinet shop. Most the workers there had done some time in prison and actually that is where some of them learned their wood working skills. Most these guys talked about when they went back to prison they would do this and that different. Most were still doing and selling drugs. I'm sure some were still doing midnight auto. Learned a lot about cars from these guys. LOL! Anyways, they just viewed getting caught as an inconvenience and the job was just to look legitimate to the dumb ass parole officers. We should go back to making theft and lying viewed shameful by society. In the past calling a person a liar was a huge insult and people prided themselves that their word could be trusted. Now we live in a loophole society where if you can legally justify your actions then you got away with it and good for you. I think punishment should be something people really fear and it should be horrible. It should be a motive not to do something wrong instead of just an inconvenience.

Doesn't sound like the thieves were run of the mill punks... clearly some fairly knowledgeable gear heads. Well or at the very least they were literate and smart enough to take the time to check price tags... I don't see where they could turn this much unique gear into a payday quickly/easily.
