Saw this when the episode aired earlier in the week. You will not believe what the seller let it go (pawned it) for.

Well? Don't be a butthole. As a Van Halen fan, 28 years is all the suspense I can take. Spill the fucking beans already.

See for yourself, in this highly staged clip: http://www.5min.com/Video/Rare-Les-P...tars-517253404

It was complete bullshit. Ford's nephew brought the guitar into the shop, and they had no interest. He then took it to Cowtown guitars, and consigned it for around sixty thousand. Next, he called the show's producers, who were somewhat more savvy. They got the guitar from Cowtown, had the nephew bring it back to the shop, and filmed the faked haggling (and Rick's supposed knowledge) on camera.

Can't see the clip....crummy dialup connection.....so did the guy sell it to Rick? Or did Rick just put it up on eBay as a consignment sale thing?

I think the buy it now price is a little bit high....but the axe is easily worth 100k for the historical value. That is the sort of thing the Experience Music Project museum should step up to the plate and buy....

If it's staged like that I would think the guys on the show would have to join the Screen Actors Guild because they are actors. I had to join the union to participate in some corporate videos and I am about a far from an actor as you can get.

Nice guitar. I have the Epiphone version of it. I always wanted a Gibson with that kind of vibrato on it. They make a nice jazz and rock guitar. Pretty versatile actually and if you are a Strat player like me its a more natural transition than going to the traditional Less Paul.
