a different favourite song every day.
la la la la; la la la laaaa...
I put this, Chinatown, Honeybaby, and Stay Frosty up there all together at the top of this album. Pretty much all the new songs FUCKIN RULE.
gnaw on it
I love this song, I think it is my favorite on the new album.
We're gonna leave you smokin like the slow guy in Chernobyl
Edward during his "rough years" playing As Is. Glad he remembered it!
Unholy shit, that is still painful to watch. I remember thinking it would only be a matter of days before Eddie became a permanent resident down here, the first time I saw that footage.
Thank all that is unholy that he came back from that!
Considering that groove turned out to be "As Is", does anybody else see the irony that the first line of that song ended up being "Yesterday I was a bum and broke..."
I'm sure Ed wasn't broke with all of the endorsement money coming in, but he sure had the "bum" part down pat....
"and I love you.... That's why I don't have anything new right now." Best line.
Nice pants,,,
Sweet music to my ears..............AS IS as it is supposed to be!
Unspoiled by progress...
As is is how's I follow through...
That's some honesty right there. Wondering if this was part of the music he came up with around the time of "Up for Breakfast" but SH had no idea what to do with it. Definitely a fav on this record I must say.
In another one of those clips he says "I'm trying to think, but when I to try to think...It don't work". I wonder why? He's come a very long way.
The more I play the record, the more this one stands out to me - it's certainly not the best written song on the disc in the 'traditional' sense of the word, but it's free-form jam feel really kicks it up a gear....
The Power Of The Riff Compels Me
Pretty amazing that out of his skull Ed could even play what he did of that riff 18 sheets to the wind at NAMM. Damn glad he remembered it!
Lately this one and Honeybabysweetiedoll have been battling for me "favorite" slot on the album. Currently As Is has the lead.
Strange tuning on this, is Ed using a string off a bass for the low E tuning it way down to B or something?
Same thing he did for, gulp, Good Enougghhraaalllfff.
Still my favorite song along with HoneyBaby. The music kicks ass. The whole album is strong really. I thought I would get sick but can't.
This song has been kicking ass at this location off and on allllll day.
I'm telling ya...
Kicking ASS!
~Only you can prevent low volume~
u gotta love the hat ED is wearing...worn like a true wino....it is still pretty hard to watch
man rough years dont seem to capture it ...... some of the 2004 live footage i thought he was dead pool material
fuck your fucking framing
Man this one is a classic. Classic Van Halen.
right as is is todays fav tune off the cd ...... but has any one else noted how much dave sounds like a weird charlton heston on the speaing part . ???
Yeah that's the bit ...
Have been giving this song particular attention as of late, and must say it is growing on me. Much more than the first few initial listens.
Scramby eggs and bacon.
I freaking love it. Tied with Honeybaby... for my fave off the album.
"Ya know what they say about angels... An angel is a supernatural being or spirit, usually humanoid in form, found in various religions and mythologies. Plus Roth fan boards..."- ZahZoo April 2013
Not just the best tune on the new album, but one of their best tunes period.
Straw poll at the weekend of 3 fans here and we all thought this is the best song on the album.
Some heavy ass face melting guitar on this one
I really love you baby, I love what you've got
Let's get together we can, Get hot
