A lot of people are poor because they are lazy. You could knock everyone to zero net worth and I would bet the people who are poor now for the most part would stay poor as a certain percentage of the rich would gain it back. It probably would exclude spoiled brats with trust funds.

The world is full of two kinds of people. Complainers and doers. The ones who stop bitching are go to work seem to be amazingly lucky.

It's a stupid thing to say none the less. The better rhetoric would of been to say....The middle class needs a safety net and has been ignored too long.

Just because there's a supposed safety net for the poor doesn't address the poverty issue that is increasing daily in this country and we're all sick of the generational Welfare mentality. Generations of people that their parents and now they are on welfare. You don't solve poverty by just keeping the safety net there. You create jobs, get people a decent education and a chance at college without the crippling debt that has made college loans a greater debt in this country than credit cards.

So in essence he has no plans to help erase poverty in this country just keep the status quo........
