    Queen died with Freddie.

This is ridiculous though. This guy Lambert is more famous for flaming than having talent. So sad he is from my hometown of San Diego.

Paul Rodgers I could deal with. Guy that has earned the rock communities respect from decades of solid work.

    No no...this will never do.

Even more blasphemous than the INXS embarrassment.

Iommi wanted Brian May to do the induction but Sharon wanted both Brian May and Angus Young to do the induction together. May refused, thinking it would be too much of a distraction to properly honor Sabbath. He stood his ground and did the induction on his own. Why does he refuse to show the same kind of integrity and respect toward Queen's legacy? I'm a big fan of The Darkness and even when there were rumblings of Justin Hawkins doing a Queen tour, in my heart I didn't like it. I certainly don't begrudge them for making a living... but this thing now... I just don't get it. Maybe they were just floating some feelers to see what the response would be. I can't imagine them selling a lot of tickets to this show at all.
At least with Hawkins you could argue that he had some credibility and understood what Queen means to them as musicians.

fuck..even though I find her overrated and overplayed, even fucking Lady Gaga would understand it.

Adam Lambert is a fucking hack and a douche bag.

This would make as much sense as Van Halen carrying on with a different singer or two if Roth had left the band in the mid-1980s. Thank Christ that sort of blasphemy never took place.

Can Brian May and Roger Taylor really not think of anything better to do with their time?

Aside from homosexuality (obviously), I don't see what the fuck Adam Lamebert has in common with Freddie Mercury. The Paul Rodgers thing crashed and burned when they actually got around to making their own music, as opposed to touring as a Queen/Bad Company cover band. I doubt this trainwreck even makes it that far.

I would accept George Michael singing with Queen.

Man...that Father Figure song hits me deep. It was playing at my first house party I went to in 7th grade when I was making out with Cherese. OMG Cherese! I got to finger her for a bit. Was one of the single most awesome moments of my life & that song was playing. We all felt like such adults.

ps - I finally fucked her a few times in my 20's when we reconnected for a bit. Totally awesome. GO SADAIST!!!

For those who haven't seen it, there is an excellent Queen documentary that was just released on blu ray/DVD called 'The Days Of Our Lives' taken from a BBC documentary. I highly recommend it. Parts of it really made my eyes start tearing. If you followed the band while Freddie was ill, there was no mistaking what was going on through Freddie's lyrics (remember, this was pre internet days), yet what little you read from the band they would constantly speak as if nothing was happening and were in complete denial of Freddie's illness. For the longest time I was bothered that these guys were in a band and it appeared that there was not enough of an emotional connection between the members that May, Deacon and Taylor could not see or admit to what was so obvious to me. When I watched this documentary, it was the first time I saw the band speak openly about Freddie's AIDS and it was Roger Taylor who said Freddie sat them all down and said this is what is wrong with me and I will not discuss it anymore so let's make music until I fucking die and taylor said that is what they did... they lied right though their teeth because that is what Freddie wanted and that is how much they loved him. And then May talked about the time he visited Freddie right before he died... fuck, my eyes are welling up right now.

Why don't they just pipe in Freddie's vocals and use those huge ass video screens with images of Freddie singing the songs.......

If you listen to that song 'You and I' that she had Brian do a solo for... you can truly hear her channeling Freddie's spirit.
In this era where Lady GaGa is so celebrated... it's a crying shame that Freddie is no longer with us. If he was still here... he would be a fucking Icon and Queen would be selling out stadiums all over the world... especially here in the US.

I don't think that would have worked either. Yeah, George nailed "Somebody To Love", and would have probably done just as well on some of the other poppier Queen songs like "You're My Best Friend" or "Crazy Little Thing Called Love". But I don't see him pulling off the harder edged stuff at all. George Michael singing "Stone Cold Crazy", "We Will Rock You", or the last part of "Bohemian Rhapsody"? Can't see it.

I dunno man, it seemed downright creepy when Presley's backing band pulled that stunt.
