Sounds like they are going to tell the Van Halen story via interviews done on the Stern show throughout the years.
Looking forward to hearing Ed talking about funding the cancer cure from a meth lab in New Jersey again... good stuff!

According to the unofficial VAN HALEN web site Van Halen News Desk, A special called "The Whole Truth: The Howard Stern/Van Halen Special" — which is basically a five-hour uncensored history of VAN HALEN on "The Howard Stern Show"… the good, the bad and the ugly — will air tomorrow (Tuesday, February 7) to coincide with the release of the band's new album, "A Different Kind Of Truth".
Stern's team pulled a variety of appearances from the different bandmembers over the years to really get a sense of the up-and-down history of the group and the back-and-forth bickering, resulting in an oral history as told through the bandmembers themselves.
All members of the VAN HALEN family tree are included in the show, with the exception of bassist Wolfgang Van Halen.
The Van Halen News Desk advises that the band's new music is NOT included in the program; the show has been created for longtime VAN HALEN fans who like Stern and want to relive the band's past dramas.
"The Whole Truth: The Howard Stern/Van Halen Special" airs Tuesday February 7 from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. Eastern (11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Pacific) on SiriusXM/Howard 101.

I don't mind Howard and used to listen to his show a lot.
But I don't get the point of playing old interviews that showcase a bunch of negativity that went on with the band.
The time is to celebrate the new album and tour -- not to conjure up past interviews of shit talking.

Just Howard Stern doing his typical shock drama, trying to cause controversy. Used to listen to him but he went from supporting Dave, to stroking Sammy's ego...to anything to get him ratings. The only effect this will do is bring up the bitter past and I hope the guys in Van Halen are light hearted about this crap and take it with a grain of sea salt, buried in the ocean of the past. AND, I would not be in the least shocked if when the show starts you hear "And we have a special guest today...Sammy Hagar!". This is exactly the kind of press, the Red Schonzer's is chasing after right now

I was a huge Stern fan back in the day.....his shit got tired 10 years ago. If the great Beetlejuice isn't on his show, I have no use for him. Kinda desperate and lame move on his part to re-hash all this old VH bullshit drama.

What's even more of a stretch is they have outlawed broadcast TV,, so they can now by cable control your channel surfing by installing a program on your box that every channel you switch to will automatically switch to a advertiser paid commercial, at any random keyed on times to maximise revenue and remove your ability to watch any show that has normal schedualed commercial breaks. They have taken the normal 76 basic cable channels and cut them down to 62 and not decreased billing thus, increased your need to watch the most "Nielson'd remote" shows to what they call "better programming" HD TV.

I just thought it weird that they would dedicate 5 hours worth of airtime and the resources needed to put such a show together, for what? SiriusXm are not going to gain any additional subscribers because of it. Not sure what the motivation is, but the way I see it the only thing it does is promote the new VH CD being released tomorrow to their current subscribers/Stern show fan base... it's not going to effect the current relationship between Dave & the Van Halen's in the least. Dave's addressed the past in his recent interviews and as Carmine said in one of his posts if all of this mudslinging, treachery and missteps are what bought us to the ultimate conclusion of a fantastic new CD (I still haven't heard it yet), then it was all worth it.
It would be totally awesome if Dave drops by Stern's studio for an interview when they play MSG. And Elvis is right, Stern has let both Roth and Spammy tell their side of the story. He treats them the same though he has made fun of Dave's attempt at hosting a radio show -- a lot.

I still remember when he was willing to give Van Halen a million bucks out of his own pocket if they got Dave back for a song on the Private Parts soundtrack, in addition to the money they would've made on it anyway. That couldn't have set well with the brothers at the time. That must've pissed them off.
I wouldn't mind hearing the 2002 interview with Dave for the Roth/Hagar tour again. That was fucking funny! Sam was on the phone bitching about having to get his fat ass out of bed for the interview, and Dave was in the studio owning him into oblivion. Classic!
