"We are part of the, not just the culture, but the geography. Van Halen music goes along with like fries with the burger." - David Lee Roth
Amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!
New Castle eh, dave? Cool! Drive nearby that every time I head to Lafayette.
Very cool interview Va.! Thanks man! and thanks DDE!
Still waiting for a relevant Browns Team
I live in newcastle.... as in the place that in 1080 ad they built the newcastle
fuck your fucking framing
That's pretty cool...
Awesome interview Va ...HATS OFF TO YOU AND DDE ... you all rock
Never saw the shots of the brothers in the house or young skinny horse riding Dave before. Awesome stuff.
"The Schlep" loling at that...
You're gonna hear the angels sing...
Damn. Can't watch on dialup.
Classical piano is a major bitch to pull off.
now imagine being a kid. it's a huge accomplishment.
Poor Al, every time Dave asked him a question, Dave would then cut him off when he tried to answer. Yup, Dave, you're like every other friggin interviewer out there. . Yes, interviewers cutting people off after asking them a question is a pet peeve of mine, lol.
Could someone please tell Eddie about his open fly?
Damn school.... got me critically thinking again, bastards...
"Ya know what they say about angels... An angel is a supernatural being or spirit, usually humanoid in form, found in various religions and mythologies. Plus Roth fan boards..."- ZahZoo April 2013
Never released photos - and stories we've really never heard before. Did this come from DDE today? WOW what a find.
Oh dear.
I get that same info from the music, but to see these men discuss thier lives in words, not set to music, is just ..well, is wonderfull ..to schlep (lol, a bothersome travel time?) of a word..?
Nice.
Al still doesn't look real happy. I remember when Dave and Al would do those old Rockline interviews in the 80s... they were thick as thieves. Can't blame Al though... I'd still carry a grudge with Dave if he stuck me with Fagar for all those years.
I see in this interview how much Dave really likes these guys and respects them and perhaps may have missed a few things, while they were all young and trying to take over the world as a R&R band.
I love this stuff.
Scripted Dave...
cool interview. But I agree about Dave just needing to ask the questions and then just shuttin up and listening
Eat Us and Smile!
Alright!!! Lemme' se yo hands!!
Very cool!
I thought Dave would do worse !! They probably did too !! It was cool to see them like that. Looks like more to come.
Awesome. More of this guys, please.
Some of those photos ... very cool. A real surprise.
THINK LIKE THE WAVES
they all seem to get along well and there is a lot of respect...and the biggest thing to notice in a conversation is that though Dave is a little hyper even at his calmest moments, he is listening to them and asking questions in accordance with their responses.
Great stuff..........it's getting better and better, hope this will go on for many many years...............
Remember Dave's scrapbook also said Part one and so far there hasn't been a part two. Not too greedy, am I.

This is great!! They look like they are really good friends and the history they have is killer! I think we have a real band here again. Thanks for posting this, now I am off to band practice in a great mood.
They seem so at ease in each others company, and that hasn't always been the case. Great to see them laughing and joking together! More of this please
Very, VERY cool! That's probably the the most I've ever seen and heard Ed and Alex talk and I quite enjoyed it. To see them like that humanises them significantly and makes them far more likeable.
That wasn't so hard, was it fellas?
"Don't want 'em to get you goat, don't show 'em where it's hid." - David Lee Roth
they seem pretty happy about what they were talking about....then billy said...MORE MORE MORE!!!!
rock on!
I want my music waking up the dead.....dont tell me to turn it down
Very cool. So much history in that room. It's amazing to see them sitting there talking like old friends in 2012. Just makes me happy. Long live the mighty VH!!
At one of the points they were talking over each other, did anyone else hear Ed say he and Al also played the violin?
Definitely more! I love this stuff - could watch it all day. Al's body english at the start seemed like he'd rather be anywhere else - but then he and Ed both seemed genuinely pleased to be asked serious, respectful questions by Dave about their family history. For his part, I thought Dave was trying his hardest not to interrupt, but he's obviously used to being the talker and not the listener. A fantastic bit of VH history that I seriously dig, this band just keeps on wowing me in every way. Thanks for sharing this. The perfect way to pass the time while I wait for the stroke of midnight...
And let's hope this is part of a bigger picture documentary that will actually see the light of day!

My karma just ran over your dogma.
if this is a dream don't wake me up...wow...Dave's mom from chicago...thats good enough for me!
Maybe this is what a heroine addict feels like after getting a long awaited fix, shooting up in the corner of some abandoned building and just not giving a fuck about what the rest of the world thinks...TATTOO"
Ed's still writing the questions for part two...
I FUCKING LOVE this shit. Fucking love it.
In all my years as a VH fan, I've NEVER seen an interview with Al, Dave and Ed TOGETHER much less Dave interviewing Ed and Al.
Within the last 20 years or so, bands have been recording and releasing EPKs (electric press kits) which always went to the press/media but never to the fans.
What we're getting now from VH is essentially segments of an EPK posted and streamed online for EVERYONE to see. Brilliant...and about fucking time!!!
One word: MORE!
Really cool... I'm assuming the choppy video is for effect and not lag due to traffic..?
So where's the bass player..?
"If you want to be a monk... you gotta cook a lot of rice...”
The video is not choppy...
