Somewhere in here I think VA said he didn't think we would here Stay Frosty Live. As I was driving in this AM listening to it I disagree. No reason they can't play this song live and they should.

"We are part of the, not just the culture, but the geography. Van Halen music goes along with like fries with the burger." - David Lee Roth
A lot of reviews have singled it out as a highlight of the album but I think if they were going to do it then it would have been tried out at one of the three warm up shows.
I hope I'm wrong though.
Many ways to do this song live. They can pipe in the acoustic part. Ed can play it on with the guitar on a stand. They can lose the break down or do something different with it. I just don't see anyway they don't play it. I would be very disappointed.
Of course it's Dave...
OK great if Dave is playing that then absolutely no reason not to do it live.
FYI. I don't think it's Dave but I''ll listen to it again to confirm my theory.
It's definitely Dave.
lol. You all sound pretty sure about that for some reason. When has anyone ever head Dave play something like that? The little fills around the 30 second mark and the lead into the electric are the reason's I don't think it's Dave. It very well could be though. I guess, If all he did for the last 20 + years was play guitar and train dogs.
It sounds very like the kind of thing he's been noodling around with before starting Ice Cream Man for the last 30 years.
Totally different style from Ed on acoustic.
Ok I digress. No reason not to play it live.
Stay Frosty, Ice Cream Man and Could This Be Magic are all built around the same basic fingerpicking blues pattern that Dave has been playing his whole life...
Sesh probably has the clips of Dave playing these same patterns live on his radio show...
I think I have it on minidisc somewhere...
Stay frosty now!!!
Just read some funny shit over at the links. Some over there think instead of Ed doing his solo, the band should throw in a 30 min jam of hagar era melody of different songs and such.
One of my favorite segments from that show. Thanks Sesh
In the old days I had a hard time believing Dave played on 79th and Sunset at first because it sounded complicated.
sounded being the operative word.
Playing guitar is just another thing Dave does better than Sammy.
Hilarious watching Brett's and Jeff's videos and hearing myself scream and whistle, etc. it's like my private soundtrack

I don't want to hear anythign from the Hagar era...that is ridiculous. About the only thing that woudl be tolerable is playing 5150 like they did Girl Gone Bad at the US Festival. 5150 was written for Dave anyways
Playing any Hagar stuff would be like the band getting remorse and serious, talking about overcoming some serious medical condition from the past. Hagar was a sickness!
All you have to do to get rid of anything that is getting you down is cruise over to the links and read some of that shit they are spewing. Will make you laugh your ass off and will make everything feel so much clearer and better. Those fools are delusional and brings the word idiot to a whole new level.
