Which tunes off ADKOT were the "Hands fell off the clock - the 2000 sessions"

Getting past Dave's metaphor, which 2000 session songs made it to the the new album ?
His comments at the time implied it was as though they had never parted ways.
Was this a reference to playing the old tunes, or laying down down some new
trailblazers ? I wonder if we can peg which tracks from 2000 made it,
    if any ??

    Dweezil ??

I'd say most likely As Is, as Ed was playing it in his drunken appearance at the 2003 NAMM show.

One of the twitter folks here should tweet Dweezil and ask him which ones, if any, are from the 2000 sessions.

I agree that 'As Is' seems like it might have been from the Clock sessions. I still think Dave brought HBSD to the table from Flex. Trouble With Never sounds a little too upbeat for where Ed was in 2001. I think all the rest of the non-demos are fair game.

I've been wondering this myself. Also got me thinking about what things would've been like had they released an album around 2000-2001. Would there have been a reunion tour? Or would it have been another 96 all over again? Although even saying "another 96 all over again" isn't completely fair since Dave was being yanked by the Sisters from the start.

If I had to make a guess, I'd agree those two would be the most likely to have been created during the '2000' sessions.

I think Dave said they had 5 or 6 in 2000 so it could be.

ALL the songs are from old demos.

The 4 songs mentioned in another thread as being "new", are not, as a friend of mine has some CDs where Ed is on vocals, Mark Stone is on base, and they are playing earlier versions of those same songs.

Feel free to argue about it, as I am just relaying what my friend has....and I am sure some of you have these same boots....

    But then, I don't care.

The FANS have been clamoring for a return to CLASSIC Van Halen.

And Ed, Alex, Dave and Wolfy have delivered in a powerful and amazing way.

    ROTH ON!

I've heard a gazillion boots and early recordings in my day, but never have I heard any with Ed on lead vocals. Any chance in your friend sharing some o' that stuff?

So are we concluding that the 2000 sessions were Van Halen revisiting the past ?

Am I tripping but didnt Dave say in one of the many interviews we have seen now that
4 of them were "new" ? The rest were modernized with Dave writing new lyrics
and harmonies, and Ed writing complete new riffs and bridges..

(I probably dreamed that shit, like a composite of all the things we have heard)

I also would love to hear those old recordings HR69, you have opened a pandoras
    box now !

Are you talking about this Pandora, from Guitar Hero??

Wow ! She is kinda hot.

I actually took the time to read the mythology about Pandora and her box.
I just learnt that Hope is actually Evil. But it was the one evil thing that remained
in her box. So theres hope waiting if you manage to get into Pandora's box !

(Man, this is some strange beer ?)

I always thought that the metaphor was just Dave kinda saying that it felt good to fire up the old engine with the original 4...
