    Hi everybody !!!

Sorry, but english is not my first language.
I am a big fan since 1978, at that time very few people knew about VH and David here. I remember Van Halen I was not edited here yet, and I bought an "imported" one from USA, I paid big money for it, and I played it all the time for all my friends, and ....my mother, she is 77 now, I think she still remembers all the songs!!!!!!!!!

Welcome to The Diamond David Lee Roth Army!

Hi katina! It is my pleasure to be the first JACKASS to welcome you to The Diamond David Lee Roth Army! IN ROTH WE TRUST.
"I decided to name my new band DLR because when you say David Lee Roth people think of an individual, but when you say DLR you think of a band. Its just like when you say Edward Van Halen, people think of an individual, but when you say Van Halen, you think of…David Lee Roth, baby!"!

You will fit right in. Welcome!

Don't take anything here too seriously or personal. It's all fun & games. Enjoy! And don't be afraid to make posts no matter how dumb they might seem at the time. How do you think I got almost 8000?

Being in Argentina, do you remember how you first heard of Van Halen? Just curious. Was it television or radio? And did you guys receive MTV in the 1980's?

At that time we had a military goverment, I was 15 years old, we hadn´t music on TV and on the radio it was scarce, you needed to have good connections, or people who travelled abroad and made you listen the Long Play, LP.
It was a little dangerous to know "new people" and I met a young man who showed me an "imported" Lp: Van Halen I, he only said: YOU MUST LISTEN TO THIS BAND, YOU MUST LISTEN TO THIS BAND!!!
At first, I hesitated, but when I finished listening to Runnin´with the Devil, I was already thinking: this guy is not a communist terrorist, he is not triyng to recruit me....!!!! We listened all the Lp...OH MY GOSHHHHHHHHH!!!!!
This is how it begun, a lifetime journey...................

I can't even imagine how Eruption & Aint Talkin Bout Love sounded to you in the type of world you were living in. In America we were blown away and we were getting all different types of new rock music styles every day. But to hear it in your situation.....must have been earth shattering. Glad to have you aboard!

And that young man you met was a smart dude. You really did NEED to listen to that LP. :-)

                  Yeah, I agree with you.
What I had to mention is that the only way to listen to new music was having good connections and some money, there was a shop called "El agujerito" (The little hole), funny !!! You have to pay in advance to order a record and wait, they didn´t even called you when the record arrived..... I remember to saved the money from what my mother was giving me for food and transport. I asked my friends for food and walked a lot. Van Halen was not edited here, and nobody knew them (only my friend), and for me as a girl was very hard, we didn´t have any concerts, just a couple of magazines to watch some photos, I had only the music, still now I haven´t find any woman of my age who was listening to Van Halen at that time, new music was for boys, the girls listned what was at the radio, more comercial music. It built my character.

I can safely say that the little hole is better than the big one.
