the lead singer of kool n the gang says they might be going out to europe with VH this summer
and he said they might record a single with van halen.

i think that would be straight up gay, sorry but i dont want my favorite playing with koolio and the gang

Smells like Aerosmith/Run DMC to me, and even though it resuscitated Aero's career, I still think it sucked.

VH doesn't need to do any silly, collaborative stunts to be on the map. ADKOT has shown that they still have the legs to do things on their own terms, and that's the way it should stay.

Dave did mention that they covered Hollywood Swingin back in the club days. That song was bad ass live at MSG. I don't really see this happening, but if they Halenized this tune, we could get our first ever VH tune with a horn section. Something Dave knew he was never able to convince the others to try way back when.

Although Dave will kick your teeth in with a Van Halen show... off stage he's more likely to have some good R&B on his playlist than hard rock or metal.
Check him out jamming up to Love Train by the O'Jays in the video scrapbook... this is the music he loves, and I'd love to hear what they could come up with.

In my mind, if they are straying from "tradition", they are comfortable. Will it work? Will it sell? Will it give them a whole new listening audience? Who knows? Who cares? VH are taking chances. VH doesn't seem to give a fuck what anybody thinks about what they are doing. They are back to being like they were in the old days. Doing what the fuck they want, and doing it better than anyone else.

That's not accurate either. I understand Cool's contribution to music in general. Hell I can even listen to it with out cringing which is more than I can say for most of today's main stream artists.
