Just Introducing myself - Van Halen lover since 1979!!
I just wanted to say hi and introduce myself. I found this site a few months ago and just lurked for awhile. But I enjoy what I am reading and I totally support Van Halen and especially Diamond Dave.
Dave and Eddie were always my favorites. I guess back in the day they were the hottest ones rocking so what girl didn't have a crush on them.
I remember the first time Iheard them they sang Dance the Night Away. It was on some 1/2 video program that use to come on Saturday night or something. Yeah that was before MTV was ever a thought!
The first tour I went to see them on was the 1980 Invasion! In 10th grade but it was rocking to say the least.
Went again in 1983 after I graduated from highschool and loved them more. Especially the DLR assless pants!
Had tickets in either 1984 or 1985 where they cancelled. Figured they just weren't coming to town afterall.
Heartbroken over the breakup in 1985!
Never ONCE support Van Hagar!
Heartbroken again in 1996!
Did go to the Battle of the Lead Singers in 2002 - Of course Hagar opened for the Diamond One that night!..and that is the way it should always be!
And loved life again starting in 2007. Saw them both in 2007 and 2012 at Verizon Center. And they can come back tomorrow and I will go see them again!
So I probably went too long but thats my story and sticking to it!
