I remember seeing The Nuge in 1980 when he was doing the tarzan loin cloth thing. He was late to go on. The audience was getting pissed. Then out he swings on this big ass rope yelling like tarzan. He lands on the stage and yells the famouse "If anyone wants to be mellow...." The crowd roars with approval. Then the Motor City Madman unleashed his magic. It was some wild crazy stuff almost silly but I've never seen anyone push it that far. It was on the edge. He played fabulous. You will never appreciate Nugent until you try and play some of his songs and match his speed and accuracy. He's a great guitar player and a master of feedback. One of the guitar greats and always has been the guy that wants to push buttons and stir the shit.
The thing is, it's a stage act. It brings him attention and he turns that attention into money. Believe me the guy isn't hurting for money.
What makes me laugh is you have all these right wing religious people like Glenn Beck who love the guy. I guess they don't know the lyrics to some of Ted's songs.

Well in 2004, 2005, 2006 we had a lot to be pissed about. Eddie was killing himself and scoring porn, the 2004 Spambo reunion was awful, and no one thought Van Halen would ever be again.
Since Dave came we got a lot less pissed. And now that the current album & tour are a billion times better & more than we ever thought, everyone is in a state of euphoria.
Plus that band of brothers thing where we have all been through the roughest shit & came out the other side together.

I saw him that tour. Someone tossed a frisbee and it almost hit him in the head. He stopped the show and started FREAKING. Had them turn the lights up and told the guy that did it that he was going to point him out and let the audience take care of him. I had to only include a portion of the search results because it was making our database huge indexing all 1 million threads.
You will need to use the search box in the upper right hand corner and let google do it for you. I am hoping to bring back the full search once my hosts gets off my nuts!
