Here is one of the greats...

I don't know about greatest songs ever written, but I've got a short list of songs that move me to the point of utter jealousy, as in, damn I wish I could write a song like that.

        Cheap Trick- Mandocello
        Jeff Buckley- Last Goodbye
        Led Zeppelin- Ten Years Gone
Black Rebel Motorcycle Club- The Open Invitation
        Jimmy Gnecco (Ours)- Bleed

This lady deserves to be here in this thread, sadly no longer with us. One of the rare cases where I truly think
the performace reached deeper than the original composer.

              Eva Cassidy.

For some reason thinking of the chicks tonight, now these songs are not what I listen to all the time or carry around
with me, just appreciation that they seem to have tapped into that fountain of unique inspiration, this song I believe
was written by the artist (Kate Bush) at 14. Its such a good example of what I was trying to say in the first post,
other wordly, timeless, not just in our lives, timeless, and it blows your mind to hear such composition.
Hell, Im a freakin headbanger and dont google kate bush everyday, but a great example of that music from the gods.
I intend on posting my favourite tunes here also, but are wracking the grey matter for obvious examples of brilliance.

Sunny written by Bobby Hebb. One of the most covered popular songs with hundreds of versions released.

I like this version with Ella Fitzgerald singing the most. Because of the big band arrangement, instrumentation and especially the motown basslines.

Heya Etienne, I thought "Sunny" was not a song I knew, nice surprise, totally know it, and yeah
this song has been covered by a lot of people. I havent heard Ella Fitzgerald in 20 years, I had forgetten
just how great her voice and soul really was.

Ella Fitzgerald the queen of Jazz vocals. I'm a fan of her voice for quite a long time now.

I could imagine Dave singing Sunny.
