You're No Good
Dance the Night Away
Somebody Get Me A Doctor
Bottoms Up!
Outta Love Again
Light Up The Sky
Spanish Fly
D.O.A.
Women In Love......
Beautiful Girls
Choose.
Gonna say Light Up The Sky for the Hell of it, but as far as I'm concerned, there are no lesser songs on any of the first 4 albums.

For sheer you-wanna-live-like-a-rockstar impact it's a toss up between Somebody Get Me A Doctor, Bottoms Up and Beautiful Girls. But for a fuck you, listen to this song it's got to be Light Up The Sky.
American by birth. Southern by the grace of God.
Light up the sky might be my favorite all time....
If this don't make your big toe shoot up in your boot nothing will, I say...
This one's for Light 'Em Up
I love the "GOOD GOD!!" right before the drum brake.
I prefer Women in love although I like LUTS...LUTS is the most overrated song on this board ....sorry...I would prefer if they'd play Secrets...Little dreamer or even So this is love in place of LUTS...but that just my opinion of course. Reason: I don't think Dave can deliver the version you guys expect...and I don't want to see any bad reviews from assholes who've never seen DLR at its prime.

Now who`s that babe with the fab-u-lous shad-ow?
Damn straight!! It's almost like being in a car and your best friend is driving and you just fucking know you ain't gonna make the next curve, but somehow you do. Then you toss out the empties and cruise the strip for the rest of the night, picking up chicks left and right. Isn't that what Van Fuckin' Halen was all about??? Goddamned right it was!
Luts ... No wait .... If I gotta go for one Luts but it will change next time I listen to it .
fuck your fucking framing
I can never pick a favorite - I've even tried to do top 5's and top 10's and I just can't. I can tell you that that video gave me goosebumps!
Stay Frosty!
THE DAY IS DONZO LET'S HAVE SOME FUNZO!!
DonnieP that audio of Light Up The Sky was Fucking Amazing! Did you hear the crowd?! Holy fuck!
But for me, Beautiful Girls or D.O.A.
Watching the acoustic version of beautiful girls on the DVD really brought it back for me. It's a beautiful song. Just a bum in the sun.
And D.O.A. because it stomps down your door and kicks you in the head after you get lulled into a false sense of security with Spanish Fly. And that ending... mmmm
Van Halen need to be given MORE credit for the order of the songs. They even proved themselves again with the new album. With DLR in the mix, the song order has been near perfect every album. VH II, a classic. The way that album ends is stellar, a sorely missed thing in the Sammy years (Inside, A apolitical blues, Feelin') MMMMMMWWWWWUUUUUUAAAAAA X
Light Up The Sky. I always think that's how Black Sabbath should sound like. But there's more talent in VH imho.
CLASSIC LP from start to finish............
gave the nod to WOMEN IN LOVE..............LUTS also beyond GREAT............
Unsung gem? Everybody knows the Pop appeal of DANCE & Beautiful Girls....YOU'RE NO GOOD is STELLAR.....never makes me think of LR!
I can't understand some people are still saying and thinking VH II is made out of some 'left-overs' from their first album, BULLSHIT!!
This is still such a 'feel-good' album and that many great different songs, under rated by many fans, BULLSHIT, I'm happy they'll play a lot of stuff from VH II this tour!!!
My favourite song, : YOU"RE NO GOOD!!!
Heard Your No good on the radio today....it was tasty.......D.O.A. is my choice for VH II .............maybe their heaviest tune ever.
In my opinion, which many of you already know, Light Up the Sky is the best Van Halen song EVER!
Told ya I was comin' back... Say you missed me... Say it like ya mean it!
Well, technically it was..... pretty much the entirety of the first three albums was written between 73 - 77 and played live in the band's club days. But they're only "leftovers" in the sense that there's only so many songs you could fit on a slab of vinyl. If the 80 minute CD had been the standard format in 1978, all these songs would have been on the first album.
Doesn't make anything on VHII of lesser quality though. Hell, you could even argue it's better quality to some extent, because the band was more experienced in the studio by then. Even back in 1979, I remember reading reviews (which I happened to agree with) that said the rhythm section - Mike & Al - sounded better on the second album than the first.
Dance the Night Away for me.
“Great losses often bring only a numb shock. To truly plunge a victim into misery, you must overwhelm him with many small sufferings.”
You can really tell they'd learnt from the making of the first album. The 2nd album is the make or break
I always read in those Rock-magazines the 3rd album is the make or break...........
Probably not the best but definitely my favorite - the first VH song I ever heard, of course I story I've told and retold.
Oh dear.
I am trying to pick a favorite since 1979.........
SGMAD.
That'll be in your head for a month.....
The Power Of The Riff Compels Me
Picked Outta Love Again...but JUST by a hair.
D.O.A., Light Up The Sky, Somebody Get Me A Doctor, Women In Love and Bottoms Up in a 5-way tie for second.
Scramby eggs and bacon.
LUTS for sure. I knew that was a special one when I first discovered it at age 12. ...I actually like VH2 better than 1 a little bit.
I am trying to pick one.....
For me, Van Halen, Van Halen 2 and Fair Warning are very hard to rank in terms of best songs or most favorite to least favorite in descending order.
Diver Down and 1984, not as tough to make those choices.
Women and Children First is so varied stylistically it's almost a moot point to a degree.
I think I picked LUTS the other day, but I can't recall for sure because it's easy to have a 5 way tie. I'm a bit surprised DOA hasn't even formed a color bar on this pole. That tune is no slouch! Awesome beginning drums, smooth harmonies in the chorus, very well though out and executed (of course) solo and the ever rebel rousing ride off in to the sunset like a spark on the horizon ending. Sweetness. Can you vote more than once?
Light Up the Sky with Outta Love Again and Somebody Fetch Me A Physician tied fer second!!! lol Well...that's my picks anyway.
Light up the Sky was close, but I chose Somebody Get Me A Doctor, which has a little more drive,
and the tensed break with the coke sniffs is one of the 3 best breaks in history for sure!
Oh, and the riff is stellar too - as well as how Eddie fills up spaces with harmonics after the intro that's repeated
throughout the track.

And I'm speedin'!!! down that line....
Never done coke, but this part and the music wrapping it up have always made my day.ffffffffffffffffffff.............. aaahhhhhhhhhhhh........................... woo-hooo!!
Light Up The Sky is my favorite. Love how they opened up the 1979 shows with that one.
Today I choose Women in Love...
