HOLY SHIT!
*if your erection lasts longer than 4 hours, just put in the Balance cd.
“Great losses often bring only a numb shock. To truly plunge a victim into misery, you must overwhelm him with many small sufferings.”
Many of us seemed surprised to see this. Is it possible that this has been on youtube FOR TWO YEARS but still never made its way to the Army?? I would think that's unlikely, but I don't know.
Killer - never seen that one before! That needs to be cleaned up and put on a box set!
My karma just ran over your dogma.
New to me! Holy shit, that ATBL intro at 6:14 blew my pants off (at work, no less). Ed waved his hand towards Dave as If to say, "this mother fucker has pipes!!"
I know the guy who filmed this show(Fresno '78).
he also filmed VH in '79 and taped Dave's solo show in '86/'88, in the same place.
those are all great. especially the complete version of Fresno '86(2CD. no cut off on Goin' Crazy). I was amazed when I heard it!
Don't notice most of my posts are less than 2 lines...

New to me. Not that thats sayin much. Great find anyway.
Dave is always bigger than life on stage, but boy, looking at that, dude seems like three inches shorter now. We're all gonna shrink with age. But imagine in DLRs case how much the wear and tear has contributed to that? Just sayin.
It's a medical fact that we all shrink with age --- as much as 2 or 3 inches by the time we get close to 60 (like Dave) --- has to do with intervertebral discs drying out:

Amazing footage. Interesting to compare Roth's stage presence to even a year later in the clips from 79. As good as it was in the fresno clip, the "coolness and the swagger" had grown leeps and bounds just a year later. I just hope the guy that filmed this has more of the show.
Love this video! Great stuff.
Anybody notice Dave doing all the back bends? He used to do these a lot.
I took these at the Salina Bicentenial Center in Salina, KS on August 24, 1980, and the Century II Convention Center in Wichita, KS July 19, 1979..
Thanks for posting that video. Always love seeing the old Fresno clips, as well as any other old clips.

Fuckin PHENOMENAL
The one band that changed the rules and the put the world on notice that they had arrived
These old clips are just incredible....
That's the part that got me too! Dave screaming & Eddie wailing. Then I see them doing a similar, albeit toned down type thing on this tour & 2007. Blows me away.
But with Dave doing so many of those awesome screams I can definitely understand why he can't do it like that anymore. Fucker gave everything he had on every single scream. Can only pull that off for so long ya know.
That is very odd. I know I have combed the deepest depths of youtube and I can't even compare to what some other guys here have combed through. Maybe Kody the dog stole the tape from the vault & posted it while Daddy was sleeping? 2years ago is maybe in dog years....so it's new to us?
I have this show still on LP and was one of the first live shows I've ever heared of Van Halen, awesome stuff and it's time for Van Halen to release this kind of stuff!!
C'mon with that DVD-box set, and an European tour ofcourse!!!
Historic Rock right there! The unknowing might just understand if they'd see some of this kinda stuff cleaned up and boxed for release... God only knows how much there can be stashed away somewhere. I was trippin' seein' EVH doin' those moves I've seen frozen in B&W all these years... Magic!
No light at the end of the tunnel, due to budget constraints...
Kickass. That was exactly one week before I saw them, and Dave and Ed were wearing the exact same outfits...
This video is on my copy of Old # 7 that ive had for about 4 years.
Pretty cool singing in it.
Dave has always maintained that there is a TON of film footage from the old tours that were captured by the crew for future concert films or promo videos.
Eddie has all these film reels in his vault --- GUARANTEED. He needs to release it already.
Bottoms Up from the same gig, Incomplete but still...
(Fucking Awesome!!)
Saw this clip taken from the clip in post #1.
Best motherfucking live into to a song I have EVER heard. EVER EVER EVER!!!!!
