    Rock n Roll....

    QUEENSRYCHE
    "Hot Spot Junkie"
    (Jackson/Tate)

The wifi wave, I'm addicted to the wifi wave.
An indispensable satellite tool I abuse. I abuse.
The world wide web and all the pictures on YouTube, there's no escaping it.
Keeps on crawling under my skin.

Can't look away from the screen, might miss what's happening.
I'm busy surfing for some other kind of fantasy.

My mind's a river flowing don't know which way to run.
I'm wound up tight I'm like a hot spot junkie with a down loaded gun.
This Wifi frenzy world revolutionary cyber world.

Ready get some air time, air wave time.
You got it under your skin?

The world wide web has the local news on YouTube.
The connectivity is crossing the threshold, crossing the threshold.
Encrypted codes and filters but there's no time to rest.
A revolutionary modern world in distress.

Just like a fire glowing, don't know how much will burn.
A WiFi knuckle hot spot junkie.

Tate deserves to be stabbed with a knife in the head for that line.

Sesh, you hit the nail with this clip.
This band used to mean a whole lot to me.
Lemme share this. It's May '91.
Been dating the future Mrs Whorehey for almost
a month. She's holding out on the whoopie.
Caught a bad case of Mono from staying up
all night kissing with her. Anyhoo, got 2 tix for QR
Empire tour. Taking future Mrs Whorehey to said concert.
Next morning I'm going fishing in MN for a
week. Tell myself all week I'm gonna ditch this chick
if she don't turn it up a notch when I get back.
Twenty years and two kids later...
This should be a VH story, but I don't acknowledge
        1986-2006, know what I'm saying?

DISCLAIMER: I used to like this band. A lot. Former fan club member, did meet and greets, had front row seats for shows, ect.

Parker is married to Geoff Tate's step-daughter Miranda Tate.

There SHOULD be tension over the direction he has led them in. To say that the last album was a sack of shit is an insult to sacks of shit. To me, "Hotspot Junkie" makes "How Many Say I" sound like "Black Dog". To hear a once great band play while Tate's stupid ass warbles "Yooouuuu Tuuuube..." is one of the most sickening and yet most tragically hilarious things I have ever heard. Somebody SHOULD have thrown his ass out of the band the moment he first thought of it.

The biggest problem I see in this band is that Geoff Tate is in charge, too many people have told him how great he is, he believes every word of it, he fucks the manager and therefore nobody will exert any veto power over any of his moronic ideas. Their last several albums have been for the most part pretty weak with a good track here and there, but have for the most part they played well live and did the song the fans wanted to hear. They lost me when they started doing fucking cabaret shows (for FUCK'S sake), and then when they released this fuckfest of trouble and misery disguised as music they have pretty much stuck the fork in my ass all the way to the hilt.

I watched the first few songs of the M3 set and was blown away by how fucking bad these assholes were. I turned it off halfway through and went to get drunk with my friends. My parting thought was "Does GT know that they only have an hour up on stage?" and if so why were they absosfuckinglutely wasting it with these atrocious songs such as "(Don't) Get Started" and "(My Career Is) Damaged"?

If Geoff Tate or anyone else wants to see the reality of how the people who used to be his fans view the album "Dedicated To Colonics", or if you just want a few good laughs:

There's a line between doing what you want with your art and jumping off a cliff. Queensryche's recent work has seen them hurdle over that line.....

I like the very beginning of it. But that song is when I stopped listening to Queensryche pretty much.

I saw the Empire tour as well and it remains in my top 5 gigs of all time. I've seen them maybe 4 times since then and each time was a bit worse than the last. I missed the last one over here but was told it was a bit better.

I think the nicest thing you could say about Queensryche at the moment is they still make for a pretty good password at work.
