Looking at this thread it occurred to me that that in my mind QR has always been the abbreviation for Quiet Riot, not Queensryche.

Be interesting to see if Tate and his wife try and get a new Queensryche together.
That's what usually seems to happen these days.
I think you can try to go that route if you have the support of the fans but I don't see ANYONE out there who has Tate's back in all this. The fans feel abused and we see that he has wiped his ass with the Queensryche name in serial fashion.

Who has control of the name? I'm leaning towards Tate if he is controlling the bands websites. This is just gonna suck for both sides. You can't have a singer as powerful & unique sounding as Tate and then change & be the same band. As for Tate, he went from mildly-cool rock star guy to full flaming weirdo so he won't keep the fan base either.

I assume it isn't much but similar to how big contractors take jobs even if they know they will lose money.......because they lose less money taking the small job than not working at all. Operation Mindcrime is absolutely sensational. From start to end. It's similar to The Wall in that the whole album tells a story. Maybe a bit deep for a 1st Queensryche listen but stellar.

It almost sounds like there may be some wrangling over the future use of the name going on.
I have more sympathy with them than say Van Halen or Guns N Roses.
These people are not going to be independently wealthy, they won't be more than a little beer money from royalties and they are in their 50s probably with no pension.
The only decent money to be made is by playing live as Queensryche.
I think in a year or two when Tate finds himself playing to 300 people in a bar in upstate NY he'll maybe wake the fuck up.
