Queensrÿche's Geoff Tate to Festival Crowd: 'You Guys Suck'

Queensrÿche frontman Geoff Tate, who possesses one of the biggest voices in rock music, offered a verbal jab at the Rocklahoma crowd over the Memorial Day weekend.

A YouTube clip is circulating in which the singer is seen and heard addressing the crowd, telling the assemblage of rock fans that it sucked. He also pointed out YOLO – you only live once- in order to get the crowd's energy up!

"My God! This is Rocklahoma, huh?," Tate asked with a smile while walking across the stage on Sunday (May 27). "I think we played here two years ago. I think it, maybe, was a different crowd. You guys suck. I'm serious. C'mon! I know it's Sunday. You've gotta go to work tomorrow. You're gonna let that stop ya? My God! You only live once, man. This is all there is. There ain't nothing else. This is your chance. This is it. This is all there is. It doesn't get any better than this. That's right. Anyway, nice to be here on a Sunday."

Given the fact that it was Memorial Day Weekend, a large portion of the crowd likely had off from work on Monday and should have been celebrating extra hard with the 'Ryche!

Just saw a Facebook blurb about that... the "core members of Queensryche" 's new band...Tate wasn't a "core" member?

On Friday June 8th and Saturday June 9th, the core members of Queensryche will debut their new band “Rising West” at the Hard Rock Café in Seattle WA. Rising West features Michael Wilton, Eddie Jackson, Scott Rockenfield, and Parker Lundgren of Queensryche, with powerhouse vocalist Todd La Torre of Crimson Glory. The band will be performing rare and classic hits from the first 5 Queensryche albums and plan on hitting the studio sometime early summer to begin recording their first release.

I recall seeing Windowpane on YouTube, they are a pretty good band as well.

I think this is the best thing for this band, they desperately needed to shed some dead wood (in the form of a guy named Geoff and his wife). The new singer sounds better than Tate has in years and I'm interested to see what they can do in the studio.

Just watched BTM:Styx. Cannot help to draw comparisons
here. Styx had a two, three album period where they tore it up.
Parted ways with their "frontman", seem to be enjoying
life playing barns with REO and the like.

QR could find a Tate sound-alike and hook up with other
80's bands on one of these multi bills playing outdoor
venues. They can play the shit out of everything from the
EP to Empire and have no problem coming up with an
awesome setlist.

This is just a hint of my Super Clairvoyance!!!

I am sort of relieved that I will never have to watch him attempt to play the saxophone again. They were getting so weird that it wouldn't have surprised me for some guy to come out on stage and let Geoff suck his dick.
