VH is over for me

Saw VH last nite in Vegas. Loved the sound. IF I closed my eyes, it was awesome.

Don't get me wrong, I am a DLR fan all the way. Not a EVH fan, not a VH in any form fan. I am a DLR fan.

I have seen Dave 6 times live. I have all of Dave's albums. I even have boots and a gold record.

This silly dancing and shit eating grin has ruined it for me. I don't know if it is the VH sisters who are making him do this, or if he feels he needs to distract from his singing ( which is fine for a live show). But it is over for me.

I will not see Dave again unless this crap stops.


It used to be that Dave ( and VH) were more dangerous than the music. Now, they are about as dangerous as custard pie. If you don't appear serious, why should I see you any different.

I hope the checkered flag means this is the end of the race for Dave with VH.

The guy isn't going to be climbing scaffolding and jumping off stage to dance in the audience anymore. Bruce Springsteen doesn't do 4 hour marathon shows anymore, and who knows what his show will be like without Clarence.

Yeah, on one level it sucks, but these guys are still out on the road, and in Van Halen's case they're doing so on the strength of an album that ranks right up there with their first 4.

It's not perfection, but what the fuck is anymore.

I agree, I don't necessarily like the Judy Garland'ish show moves, I don't necessarily like the unnecessarily higher registers that Dave forces in songs....

But the band is smoking right now... I'm more than willing to accept a Dave that isn't in his prime anymore.... Dave at his current level is better than 90% of the numbnuts in the music business nowadays....

Goddamn I dislike people who live in the fucking past. Would I give my left nut to have seen Van Halen back in 1982? You bet your ass, baby. Sad fact - I didn't - I gotta accept that. Guess what? This - and the 07/08 shows - are as close as I'm getting in my lifetime. Sure, Dave put on better shows on the reunion tour - hell, he physically did better shows solo back in 01 and 06. Do you know why? Here's the answer: he was younger. I know how he feels. I'm no entertainer - my daily routine is less strenuous by far than what the Diamond One is doing every other day on this tour. At 57, he's dancin' circles around most lead singers - and seeing him do it live was WAY more enjoyable than watching it on a YouTube video. Sure, his dance moves are herky-jerky Wizard of Oz Scarecrow Al Jolson Broadway schmaltz - but that's Dave at this point in time. Deal with it or get the fuck out.
