How 'bout a STK S10 ??
How 'bout a STK S10 ??
No, but in reviews the seem to have too much of the clean Yngwie tone for me...
I like the original HS3 the best...
They sound like a stock American Strat pickup but a little warmer with a tiny hint of a humbucker sound that I think smooths things out a bit...
The new YJM pickups are clear as a bell...
I'll find a cheap S10 on ebay...
You might like them... They weren't quite Stratty enough for me...tried them in a guy's guitar when I did the Lang amp demo (which once upon a time I would've posted the video of said test here, but no effin' way now). I like the STK-S6 and S7 best for the neck position. The STK-S4 is an awesome all-around one, using that in the middle position of my Sunburst Strat, and the STK-9B kicks ass in the bridge...
I'd like to try a Twang Banger in the bridge slot too, but someone else also just reviewed that one recently...
I liked the HS-3, still have one stashed for a rainy day....

I was going through drawers of guitar parts the other day and I found several HS3's I bought and never even opened...
I probably have 20 HS3's all together...
HS3 is also good for recording heavy tracks with a Stratocaster...
I find this talk equally fascinating and confounding. What's an HS3?
My karma just ran over your dogma.
Tell ya what...
I bought some Lollar single coils in a loaded pickguard a few years ago and just got around to trying them again and they sound, from initial tests, better and clearer than the HS3 (which is saying quite alot) without being shrill like some custom single coils,, which I hate...
And they're not hum cancelling or anything, but they're quiet enough...
I also have some fralin Woodstocks in an upside down SRV Strat with a Yngwie Signature neck and it has that high treble shrill that I don't care for...
probly cause he sounds like a 'shreds' video...
Guthrie Govan's pedalboard...
Not only is he a phenomenal player, love that dude's sense of humor...very dry and british, but there's this hint of Monty Python-level silly. I tweeted about how based on his recommendation in that other video, I wanted to try "the unfortunately named 'Nut Sauce'" on my non-locking trems and he retweeted it...lol
Whaddaya mean "hint"?
Just...wow.
Vacationing with the Bomber.

I was wrong about you, brother. You're good.
Thinking aboot this one.....you never know
Very cool! I ordered the neck for 1 of my 2 bass projects Friday, should take 4-5 weeks to fabricate. I went completely nuts with this build, but I figure if it's gonna be the only thing I have to record bass tracks with laying around it should be versatile. And so it will be.
But I was kinda bored last week and noticed the mounting ring for the pickup in my original Charvel mutt was giving up the ghost and I had a Trembucker one leftover from the Bomber, so I figured I'd swap them. Great idea, except the TB ring is nearly flat, and not as tall, so that made the original (chrome) screws too tall. So I ordered new black screws from StewMac when I was ordering bass parts, which showed up the other day, allowing me to finally complete the swap... worked like a charm AND looks cooler.
It's the little things sometimes...
A friend of mine has the local guitar shop , creepy guitar anoraks tend to bunch up
He normally has your average axe in but sometimes he gets in something unusual or a bit of a find.
