"Light up the Sky" isn't exactly easy singing, but some stuff from ADKOT seems to be more demanding,
like "China Town" (I wish they'd drop this one and insert "As is" or "Bullethead" in the setlist instead), in
which Dave sounds like he's struggling a little.

"Drop Dead Legs" would be absolute kickass, and more comfortable somehow for Dave to sing than for Ed,
    Al and Wolf to play.
Who knows, but I guess "Light up the Sky" and "Drop Dead Legs" will appear at some point in the song list,
and Dave isn't refraining the band from playing them, because they're not that challenging tunes for his vocals.

I made a polite mention to her in Greensboro about Light up the Sky and As Is when she came up to talk with Beach and Poj...I just happened to be standing with the guys then...she said the band loves playing them but not to expect them in the set...

I, as with most of you...think that this "break" in the tour is for Dave to rest the pipes or whatever he needs to do...

Hopefully...he gets things where he wants them to be voice wise and they get back at it sooner rather than later...

new additions to the set would be great, sure...but as long as Dave gets back to 100% so that they can resume the tour...I'm good...

If this rest means that they can add in some new gems afterward....that's just gravy...

"she said the band loves playing them but not to expect them in the set..."

I really fail to understand why they would "love" playing those songs but not want to do them live. This reinforces my belief that Dave alone doesn't want to do them.

Finally got a chance to listen to this - HOLY SHIT!! Light Em Up, I might give up my Sinner's Swing prayers and switch to LUTS with you!! That was amazing - and I agree with what lots of you guys have already said - Wolfie is badass on this. I am totally impressed by him. Still not gonna shut up about Dave taking off his shirt though. My new request might be a shirtless LUTS (would that be sluts?!)!

Hope all is well with Dave's vocals, this one and Drop Dead Legs totally need to make an appearance when the tour resumes.

Wolf is on his way. He needs to spend some time in the gym and get his stage presence and look down better but he's got the musical talent. I thought Ed was full of bullshit when he said Wolf was great but now I see what Ed was getting at. Wolf is the shit.

agree...and about his "stage presence"...he became some cool motherfucker already! he's not doing the "mad anthony"-thing but seems to be relaxed and solid as a rock! and how he's moving his fingers and lips to the piped in vocals and bass lines is outstanding

I agree totally. It really begs to question why... LUTS & Drop Dead Legs are no more difficult to sing than anything else currently in the set list.

Seriously, Dave needs to fix whatever his issues are... physical and mental.

If VH returns from this alleged refresh break and if they don't do a serious change in the set list... Then Dave's talk of wanting to keep things fresh and add the "Monster Truck Pull" elements will expose him and the band to some serious fan fallout. The fan base may have been very forgiving based on the great things VH has done recently... but one revisit to planet bullshit will not be pretty...

Agreed. But why not try and play it a couple nights ? If it goes bad the first time, try it again. If that sucks drop it. Looks like the dropped Hang Em High ?
