That's funny about being exposed to VH at such an early age. I think I told this story in a thread a while back but fuck it, I'll tell it again. I was 6 yrs old walking up the block with my friends who were all older. My one buddy who was 8 was our ring leader. It's 1979 so Grease is huge at the time. We are all walking single file behind my buddy who was explaining to us if we wanted to be cool we had to walk like Danny Zuco. We are passing an older kid's house who was 11 and he's in his garage blasting a record. He calls us in to his garage and tells us if we really wanna be cool we have to listen to Van halen. I'll never forget hearing him blasting Dance the night Away. I went home and told my mom I wanted the Van Halen II record because I wanted to be cool. She laughed and went out and bought me Kiss Alive because what little kid didn't love Kiss in 1979, and she also bought Van halen II. My Dad never cared for Kiss but he wore VH II out. Made sure when ADKOT came out I bought Pops a copy.
BTW....i just started discovering some of Budgie's music......not bad at all. I recently found out the same dude who did the artwork for Maiden did artwork for some of Budgie's records.
Showing my age here , used to go to a nightclub on a Friday night around the time of NWOBHM circa 1980 - really small club but saw loads of bands including Budgie (past their best) , Angelwitch , Witchfynde etc
I love to listen to Budgie! Very underrated!
