From London to Toronto 2012 . . . . . just to see The Mighty Van Halen

Living in London UK, I always promised myself if Van Halen ever reformed with Diamond Dave and toured a new album, I'd fly to the big apple to see them before it all fell apart (again) . . . . .

Good review. Only one fault I find and that is your description of stacks of "Marshalls".

Sorry but they are Ed's own brand of amps, EVH, which Wolfie also plays on his side of the stage.

Other than that, good review, and it is obvious you are a dedicated fan to have flown London to Toronto to see them.

Glad you had fun....hope they go to the UK so you can see them several more times.

Yeah, you're spot on re EVH Amps Hardrock69, I remember now! Will update shortly! They hit the UK so rarely, I had to give it a shot. I have a couple of good buddies in Toronto, including the Brighton Rock vocalist Gerry who helped me out with some of the planning.

Heh....they are rarely seen on THIS side of the pond.....went to Guitar Center (music gear chain) a month and a half ago and asked if they had any in stock.....pretty much the answer was "no".

IF VH make it to the UK, by all means show up here again and post another review.

Or, if you have the thick skin, stick around and be a member of Roth Army. We have a few lads here from the UK. Top shelf sorta mates.

Oh thick skins are in good supply here - we can dish it out and take it. Also did a Night Ranger club show in London last Monday in front of 800 people. They've played here less times than VH but the ripped it up . . . . . review here if anyone's interested.

I'm kinda fortunate in some ways as if anyone comes to Europe, at least they play London. Halen are a real enigma here as we just haven't seen enough of 'em with Roth. Hagar, you can keep.
