    Who here listens to Kansas?

I fucking LOVE Kansas. They're one of my favorite bands! And they still rock today. Seriously, if they're playing by you, GO SEE THEM. You won't regret it. I know they're known for their smash hits (Carry On Wayward Son, Dust in the Wind, Point of Know Return, and Fight Fire with Fire) but the rest of their material is very intricate and complex, akin to that of Emerson, Lake and Palmer. Not only that but they were I believe, the first ones to impliment the violin in hard rock. First with Robby Steinardt, who made it all possible! He also sang lead vocals on certain songs. And secondly with David Ragsdale who is one of the most talented musicians I have ever listened to. Ragsdale is not only a classically trained violin virtuoso, he also plays a mean guitar and sings backup vocals, in some songs at the same time!

    I mean,just listen to these.....fucking amazing....

I LOVE these guys. . .always have. Most people only talk about Dust, Carry On etc, but I have ALL their albums and LOVE Device Voice Drum (DVD) from a while back.

Also their last original album Somewhere to Elsewhere or something like that.

Icarus 1 and 2, absolute killer stuff. Rock On.

I enjoy their greatest hits album. Never really liked them enough to buy the actual albums.

I have seen them 4-5 times. But not since the early 80s. First time I saw them was fall of 1977 in Huntsville, AL.

I drag out some bootlegs I have of them once in awhile.

Great band. Not just musicians, but composers also.

Hardrock, did you realize that Lurch looks a lot like Tony Robbins?

Check out Kansas playing Belexes from Device Voice Drum. The DVD has been out for about 10 years now.

Actually you got it the other way around, lol.

Tony Robbins looks like a very young Lurch.

Lurch was first!!! Then Tony Robbins (the resurrected Lurch) appeared and told us how we could all be successful,
make a lot of money, become better people, have perfect relationships and life would be all great again!

I wonder what Gomez and Natasha would think? Perhaps "Thing" could strangle him in Uncle Fester's Room.

    Cheers

    Nigel

The Last album with Livgren writing all new tunes for them was terrific as well. Icarus II is excellent:

Well, Rags was in the band in 94 instead of Robby Steinhardt. A user on Youtube by the name of rickyon just posted videos of a 1994 Kansas concert in Danbury, Conneticut. Perhaps this concert was before or after yours.....

Let's keep it going guys. It's easier to come here and see a Kansas concert.

I love the way Steve Walsh just "milks" every note he's singing. Guess what, he can't hit those sustained high notes either

but who cares. Kansas is as talented as any band on the planet!!!
