Wow... how the tides have turned with the 'hang it up' posts that I read on the last few pages. Yes they are all older now (except for Wolf, which is beside the point here). It's still easy to sound good on guitar/instruments but the voice ages, get over it, Dave is working hard at giving us fans what he's got left. The Osaka digest that was posted highlighted a very controlled DLR delivering in a comfortable & controlled range for him. Kudos. If you aren't digging it, YOU should move on... not VH. Jesus H. Christ... I'll be 49 this year and I feel too tired to get up to face the day most every day, ahd Dave us about 10 years older than me still getting up there on stage and giving it quite a go.
That being said, yes I would like to see more studio albums where they bring out the best whereas I can tell the tours expose a lot of flaws and fatigue especially in Dave, but the finest wines are always aged and it still take a lot of brass to get up there and be real where even the young nothing stars of the moment lip sync, auto-tune, have backup singers, hide in the stage production, etc.
...but Beyonce's Superbowl halftime show still sticks in my mind, lol !

First Osaka show
...and the second Osaka show
Dave sounded powerful! Pipes are in decent form.
Chinatown still a speed bump, but I don't think he cares. That's an Ed/Wolf showcase that's just too damn fast for him. It's bookended by SGMAD and HAIL, both of which he nails.
Nails ??
It was kinda OK...
But he still sounds 100 years old with a hot poker up his ass...
Chinatown is just plain awful on Dave's part...
Ed ripped the solo in that last clip...
God, Ed looks old. He looks like one of the Castro brothers.
I love Chinatown but Dave simply can't sing it. His voice is much stronger than 2012 but still misses that song. Time to try a different cut from ADKOT.
I am still on Unchained. It sounds like Dave is struggling. Nice ass at 0:04:20
Running WTD sounds significantly better. Same with She's the woman. Why does camera always have to be on Ed??? The best living frontman in the world is there and they film the guitarplayer. I mean Ed is more then just guitarplayer, but there isn't much to see really, I'd rather look at the frontman.

Ed looks more like himself, I think...
I am just glad Dave reconsidered his 2002 Donatella Versace look He looks great now.
Dave sounded best in 07-08, worse in 12 and solid Dave in 13
Ed and the entire band are old, period. Damn the fansare old and the band even moreso. Given that Ed looks as healthy and happy as he ever has.
If you want to see old see Hagar he looks like he escaped from an old folks home and is still wearing the mismatched clothes from the home. I'm waiting for for Hagar to one day stroll out in bunny slippers.
Check out good Dave is here...
I have no doubt Dave can still sing exactly like that, if he'd just stay in that range.
Look at the stage presence displayed in this clip. Not only by Dave, but by Ed too. They had the old swagger. They were cocky. They were having fun. I think that is more of a missing ingredient right now, than any jumps or kicks.
I think he should die in an accident like this. But even that would be too adventurous for him.

Take the Sammy Clichegar talk to a thread where people are cuntcerned more with what the round rocker is or isn't doing these days.
Nobody in this thread gives a fuck if he is dead or alive.
There is at least one thread around here that is dedicated to some sort of obsession with that fat fuck.
This thread is about David Lee Roth. This thread is about the mighty Van Halen. Let's keep it that way.
I really hope VH releases a DVD from the Japan shows
That's the DLR I'm hoping will make a come-back. I don't expect jumps, kicks, and splits anymore - hell, I can't even stand up from a sitting position on the floor without help and I'm 20 years younger than Dave. But it would be the shat to have that 2007 swagger. Dave ruled the stage with just the right amount of attitude and confidence that tour so that it didn't look contrived or like he was trying to hold on to past glories (like the crypt-keeper BBQ days). I also think he can still hit the notes and sing like that again if he wanted to. Lose the dance floor, lose the vaudeville camp, prowl the stage like a sexy caged animal, and sing like you've got something to prove again.
My karma just ran over your dogma.
