Obviously I'm gonna miss gig nights as well. And it really is mostly about all of you fine folks here - it's been great spending so many evenings (often having had too many beers!) just chatting with you guys about tweets, videos, and random thoughts. My husband refers to the people on this site as "my people" and I really do feel so comfortable and at home with all of you. There's been a lotta love shared in these threads! Can't wait to start up again whenever.......
(of course I'm not going anywhere in the meantime )

I have made a major change in my life this week .......I'm on vacation with the family in Miami and we did the grocery yesterday and instead of buying Heineken I did go for Bud...I have not drank anything but Heineken the last 10 years...and VH is off for a while...so I'm a little down

Dude!! You gotta embrace the cheap beers that America has to offer!! Natural Ice and Busch Ice!! Cheap as hell and both of them help soothe a bruised heart! Or they help ruin a bruised heart...Either way they're what you need to be drinkin' 'bout right now.

I appreciate it dude but I stay away from anything that has ice in it especially beers but I love ice hockey or 12 year old scotch on the rocks...

I never expected to relive the dream in 07 and 08...needless to say that a 2012 asskicking new album and tour was beyond all my expectation...

I'm going to put a positive spin on this.

First off, I'm happy that I won't have to spend money this summer. I already blew a LOT of money in the spring when you factor in travel costs, and I really shouldn't have done that. If they had toured this summer I should have only gone to Philly and Cleveland (where the big meetup was going to be). But I doubt I would have had the discipline to limit it to that, and probably would have been sucked into Baltimore, Hampton VA, etc.

Second, they did the exact same setlist from 6/9 to the end so the surprises were over. I don't know about you but I was getting really bored by the end of the 2007-08 tour and wasn't exactly sad when that ended; 80 shows of the same exact thing were more than enough. If they went on tour this summer and didn't have it in them to work anything different up, didn't have the energy to at least rotate songs, that would have been very, very disappointing.

Third, it's not the end, they're touring Japan in November. Plus my acquaintance who has an in with the band has expressed confidence they'll be back for another round at least in North America.

Fourth and most importantly we got a new album. The tour was gravy. But the album will go on forever and can't be taken away from us. If you made me choose between one more tour or one new album, I'm going with one more album every time.

Take this time to explore some new music, new unheard-of bands, see shows you might not have seen otherwise with the money you had earmarked for VH. That's what I did from 2009 to the beginning of this year; VH wasn't on my mind at all. And then when VH unexpectedly came back it was great. For better or worse, time will move ridiculously fast.

Couldn't have said it any better than that.

This is a textbook example of the "perfect post."

Well done, Lou. Looking forward to seeing you again if they do come back for round 2.

Being here every other night and getting to hang out with all of you these last 3 months has been fucking amazing! Made some great new friends and I look forward to picking this right back up again once that next leg kicks off. Sniper and I will be having a busy month in July, so that will make the time go quicker, and I hope that when this next leg kicks off, we will be in a position to catch various shows, and hopefully meet up with some of you fine folks here on the west coast. Would love nothing more that to meet you all on the east coast, but not ready to get a second mortage to fund the Van Halen obsession. In the meantime, I will continue to rotate my Van Halen cd's and also familiarize myself more with Dave's solo endeavours. My favorite is A Lil' Ain't Enough, but honestly, I haven't listened to most of the others. Keep in mind, I am a rookie and was only educated in 2008.

Again, thanks to all of you for always making me feel like I was part of this group!
Told ya I was comin' back... Say you missed me... Say it like ya mean it!
