Just received an email saying the "postponed" tour dates are now cancelled. The two shows I paid for will be refunded.
I hope they do plan on coming back for a few more US shows next year.

Of course I had 19th row center tickets for Baltimore and got the dreaded cancelled email today also....of course heartbroken but thats ok because I got to see them in DC and that made me happy!

Just looked on Ticketmaster and some shows are marked as cancelled and some still say date TBA. Not sure what to make of it. Drinking lots of wine anyway.

This cartoon totally sums it up....I was totally happy with all of my VH blessings, feeling satisfied. Then, they announce more dates. And some are in my area. Then hubby buys front row...now I'm back in it. Counting days again. Then...postponed.....then....cancelled. That's what I call unnecessary roughness. Just call me CharlieIndeed... the real game is a foot!!

I found it a bit strange in the CNN video the way Ed talked about it.
The chick says "The band may go on tour again at the end of the year."
And Ed says "Yeah, I heard some talk about Australia and Japan in October and November. But don't quote me on that because that's management's decision. They just call and say 'You're going here.'"

Thanks! I'm trying to be hopeful, but after having the ball pulled away one too many times by these guys, it's hard. I just don't get them. Don't understand the planning/thought process at all.
It helps not to expect anything from them. Then whatever I get is just bonus to my life.
Pretty much the easiest way to go through life in general!

--- He says "I got enough new music for 10 albums" in 2001 --- but all we finally get is mostly rehashed old demos in 2012.
--- He says "We bit off more than we can chew and had to postpone the tour" --- which is now a cancelled tour.

just seems weird they would cancel near sold out shows in the states to take 5 months off to play Japan?
Whatever...they are going to cut another album and THEN tour and people are complaining? Can't please everyone I guess

Well fuck they were supposed to play Soundwave in Aus last year. They should visit us and other countries before a home coming in US.
We've never seen DLR/VH in Aus, NEVER! And if Dave is gonna charge me $150 and read Hang em High lyrics from the drum riser then he can forget my dosh. Fair is fair.
I'm happy that VH may be playing Australia and other countries they haven't seen in a while (or ever). I'm also VERY happy that they may be making new music. I'm thrilled to have seen them as many times as I did on this tour - and I had a blast each time. My only complaint is the poor planning and disappointing the most loyal and dedicated fans. This is Van fuckin Halen, not some rinky dink operation - how do you schedule dates, then add more dates, only to postpone/cancel them soon after. Who the fuck is running this circus?! Like I said earlier - I was totally happy and satisfied until they added more dates, I got awesome seats, and then they cancelled them. Not what I'd call fan friendly.
Definitely sucks and cancelled brings back memories of all things bad about Van Halen. One thing good that comes out of it is that people get their money refunded instead of it being held onto by Ticketmaster and LiveNation. Bad thing is now the Sam trolls will be out in full force. I hate those arseholes. At least now, if they are continuing they can schedule Japan and Australia they can do those and reschedule North American dates for the winter when the market isn't jammed with every other band.

There's alot going on behind the scenes that led to this.
The economy sucks, the tour is probably costing everyone involved a ton a money and if ther is no profit, believe me, they'll pull it.
Album sales have been mediocre,(in this day and age of digital fickle, adhd youth), to say the least.
Hardly any promotion from Interscope, (they probably got a crap deal to begin with), no ads, no tv, no radio, with the exception of the cnn and guitar world
interviews, and the biggest negative, NO ROTH !!!

Where is this DVD they proposed to release ?
Where is that "Greatest Hits" cd with Roth ? Why did that get pulled ?
I hope they get their shit together because wasted time and years are going by quick.
Fuckin' bullshit drama and internal issues have made this band almost a punchline now ...
