Josh did OK with the boxing. When you up against a guy who used to the be former World Amateur champ in the second contest, it's going to take a heroic effort to get by. The Italian guy threw his shots from very unusual angles, which means it's hard to see 'em coming.

Yeah, he finally got back in his Beijing form (or close to it) these last few races. I don't know what the deal was, but he looked absolutely terrible in that first race. He could have and should have won at least one more gold in the 200 butterfly the other night, but he got a case of the lazies at the last second and got out touched at the wall.
My theory is that he didn't start training long enough before the games, tried to cram it all in and was overtrained at the start of the Olympics. Now he is starting to hit his stride and I guess when that happens no human can swim with him. That gold he won today was a good example. Last off the platform, seventh at the turn, made a bad turn and then proceeded to blow everybody out of the fucking water in the last fifty meters.
