Momentous evening for Britain. The home nations came together and delivered. I have tickets for a few events in the next couple of weeks, starting with boxing tonight.

Don't think the Queen saw "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo".
'Cause three holes are better than a hole-in-one!!!
Daniel Craig?? Couldn't she have taken a handsome Bond, like young Sean Connory or Pierce Brosnan.
The heart is on the left. The blood is red.
i won't say the ceremony was awful, just not my style. it has to be torture sitting there in the stadium watching it live.
i did like the forging of the ring part. the Floyd references in the opening film were cool.
would have liked to see the Top Gear guys in there somewhere but i bet Clarkson thinks it's all rubbish.
Writing In All Proper Case Takes Extra Time, Is Confusing To Read, And Is Completely Pointless.
I thought it was class and Much better than I thought it would be ... Really enjoyed it
fuck your fucking framing
The olympics is like going to McDonalds. It's relatively the same everywhere. Usually the ticket prices are so high only visiting VIPs can go to the events and the local population are left out but they are left with the taxes to pay for everything. Sometimes for years. In Montreal they still call their olympic stadium "The Big Mistake".
Nobody will top Spain for opening cerimonies. Taking the chance to light the torch with a flaming arrow and pulling it off. That was cool as hell.
Oh well, it's about the athletes anyways.

I thought it was a bit different from the usual oh we're British ain't we quaint we have history and Shakespeare ....
I liked the industrial revolution & woman's sufferage angle and the nhs was cool .... The welfare state and woman's suffrage are causes up there with the abolition of slavey and the civil rights movements and it was very cool to celebrate those things .
Rather than some trivial twee bollox ..... IMHO
Wow that was more serious than I meant ... Fuck it mr bean was funny
I didn't watch it. All they were talking about over here is the queen looked bored when the UK's athleletes came in and she was picking her nails.
What I found interesting about Britain is you have that long history that anyone in an english speaking country is forced to learn about. Then the old school stiff upper lip empire bit. I always found that late 70's youth rebellion quite interesting. Something snapped there and like always it creates some mighty fine music.
At least her majesty was not picking her nose. I'm sure she has a staff member that does that for her.
I must ask,Who the fuck are the arctic monkey's?.There are so many great British artists.Who the hell are they?
yeah the Bean part was hilarious...
Now who`s that babe with the fab-u-lous shad-ow?
I would surely love to have this clip....the FULL clip....starting when they show a black sedan driving through the streets of London, then driving through the gates of Buckingham Palace....
Seems the Beeb is being insanely serious about deleting this from youtube, etc.
Probably something to do with the IOC who are effectively running the country at the moment...
Yup. They sure are.
